Darlene Love should be an automatic simply for having been in Lethal Weapon. :D

It's not just that, it's including people like LL Cool J. RHCP is also nowhere near ready... I like some of their stuff and Flea, Chad Smith, and John Frusciante are all great players, but overall RHCP is not HoF caliber... not yet, maybe not ever. More time needs to pass to judge their legacy.

1.) Because they're not "hip".
2.) Because they touch themselves at night and are dirty sinners.
3.) Because the RNR HOF doesn't take them seriously. And songs like "Like a Sunshower" don't help matters much.

Few do anymore.

"Another signer? Same songs re-recorded with a new guy? Dude, whatever. Play Don't Stop Believin'!"

The die-hards are in the minority and minority usually doesn't rule.

They will get in eventually... but not until Terry Stewart drops over and falls dead - he loves Punk and he hates AoR

The Stooges and Nyro are a given because of their "critical" cred (and I think the Stooges are deserving. Whether they're your cup of tea or not, Iggy and the boys made alot of noise back in the day and influenced alot a bands to come.)
KISS is the wildcard here. Dave Marsh, who along with Jann Weiner practically run this thing, has been quoted for years as saying "KISS is a shitty band, and I'm gonna do my part to keep them out." It's also well documented that Rolling Stone and Weiner have had a beef with Simmons and Stanley for years. HOWEVER- mark my words! If KISS makes it in, the walls come down and we'll finally see the big AOR bands of the 70's (JOURNEY, STYX, BOSTON, etc) get in. AND- I think Genesis will help pave the way for bands like RUSH and YES (also much deserving).
