Jon - he's not appreciated enough. Loved him on harmonica with Neal
Never noticed really or cared about the half-step down as Arnel's tone on the songs was great
Loved every minute of the show. My only wish was Mother Father as I've never heard that live. Revelation songs really are great live. The crowd was really into Journey tonight.

That's cool. Night Ranger is a pretty hard rocking band. Brad Gillis is a monster on the guitar.

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say! We were right in front of him in Pensacola, and it was my first Night Ranger concert. We'd run into Jack Blades earlier that day and he was incredibly nice and accommodating. So I was excited for the show. Gillis IS a total guitar monster, and we were just blown away by his talent. Plus, he's kinda like Wolverine on the guitar -- pumped up, kinda hairy, and made all these really menacing faces while he was shredding. That was tops! I can totally see that guy shotgunning a brewski, crushing the can on his forehead and then just tossing it at ya.

I admit, I didn't want to like any new singer for Journey after the way SA and JSS were treated...

I gave in and went to the Orlando show tonight. Personalities aside, it was a good, fun show.
Arnel is all that and then some. He has the better voice out of all the Journey singers IMO.
I did enjoy the last show I saw (Arrival) more w/ SA. The sound and setlist was much better back then, and I
missed hearing IBAWY, MOL, WCN, ATF, HP, WYLAW tonight. I could have done without JC's harmonica jam, too.
But, with that said, Arnel's vocals turned what could have been a good show into a great show tonight. He is the real deal.

Dean C. sat in on drums on Sister Christian and he nailed it just like the album. One of my favorite drummers,
but I gotta say it - what's with the hair? Ugh. Looked like he should be drumming for The Romantics
or The Cure or something. Dean, please get a haircut. Tell Ross he could use one, too.

Joel is Effing AWESOME!!! Perfect for NR!!!

Yes they all came out for the meet and greet, was great to meet Arnel and my friend spoke with him in their language, what a humble guy and very nice person.

Night Ranger was great, had never seen them live before. Have seen Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy before, last year's MR Fest (when is the next one BTW? LOL). Jack is h.y.p.e.r., LOL. Fun to watch, great frontman and guitarist. Brad Gillis, what a monster on guitar! I loved that he had one guitar that was red, or rather used to be mostly red, and it was beat and scratched all to hell, but sounded awesome, lol. Love that. They did a couple Damn Yankees songs too, I recorded High Enough, and Deen C. came out on drums for Sister Christian, it was great, recorded that too, but stuck at work for today, will try to get them up sometime tonight.

Journey was great, sounded awesome, Arnel sounded awesome, great show. And as always, loving drums like I do, most of my attention was on Deen, and as always....D.A.M.N. He's incredible to watch play, and then that voice...amazing. Didn't do Mother, Father, which I really love to hear him sing, would rather hear that than Still They Ride. I was good and didn't run to the bathroom during Open Arms like usual, lol, but I did have the giggles during the piano solo before (those of you in Vegas last year know why, lol!) and even more giggles during because it never fails there are GUYS with baseball hats on who sing that song to each other, while yelling back and forth "Dude!" and spilling beer on each other's preggo looking bellies, LOL! Never fails!! Love it. Didn't get any vids of Journey because I was waiting for something from Rev other than Never Walk Away and Wildest Dream, but didn't happen. Change For The Better is great live, so that was cool to hear again, but they could do away with NWA (just nothing catchy or special about that song to me, sorry) and Wildest Dream, and replace them with something else from Rev like WITTW, WIN, Sunshower, WDILYL, or even TDTWT. jmho.

Fun night! Next concert isn't until Dec., TSO. I'll have concert withdrawals by then.

I had a great time last night. Night Ranger was guitar ecstasy as someone previously mentioned. The guitar harmonies were incredibly tight. We even got entertained with story time from the bass/lead vocalist. Talk about a package deal! lol. Brad Gillis was doing Buckethead stuff with that guitar,and the Jeff Watson look-a-like was not only a look-a-like but a sound-a-like as well. The negative was their set list was power ballad heavy, and talk about being a Nostaligia act...

My ears were blown out from Night Ranger and Amway Arena's piece of complete shit PA system. Not a very good mixing job at all. They finally turned down the speakers halfway through Journey's set but by then it was way too late.

I think the best part about Journey was actually Arnel. His vocals were spot on and no diction issues whatsoever. It was funny because when I was getting a drink I had to explain to the vendor(who's first language wasn't English) that Steve perry is no longer with Journey and that the new singer, Arnel Pineda, is really good. I think he understood me lol. Also it was interesting to see the different genres of people that attended. I saw a few younger people but My group was the youngest in the vicinity. I got a kick out of the women that were wearing heals and tight skirts to a Journey concert, and you could tell they were with rich guys that are trying to "score"
lol.
I did have an issue with the songs being tuned down, it seemed to make them drag; however, Journey's energy completely made up for it. Just imagine how great it would be if they were in standard tuning with the same amount of energy and effort. Lots of dirty dozen songs, of course, but they added a new twist to all of them. I could tell they put a lot of effort into their performances, and enjoyed playing the spruced up versions.

Neal was on fire as usual, and Jon was actually smiling most of the time. Neal's guitar was way down in the mix and got buried under the synths a lot of the time, but during the solos it was way up front. He played the same Les Paul for most of the show, and he switched to the strat for lights/still they ride, and brought out a PRS for WITS. His playing was very clean except when he shredded it got buried in the distorted speakers(and ears).

Overall, it was an awesome concert, and for the price I paid I totally got my money's worth. this is my 3rd Journey concert, and my girlfriends first. she really liked it too.

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say! We were right in front of him in Pensacola, and it was my first Night Ranger concert. We'd run into Jack Blades earlier that day and he was incredibly nice and accommodating. So I was excited for the show. Gillis IS a total guitar monster, and we were just blown away by his talent. Plus, he's kinda like Wolverine on the guitar -- pumped up, kinda hairy, and made all these really menacing faces while he was shredding. That was tops! I can totally see that guy shotgunning a brewski, crushing the can on his forehead and then just tossing it at ya.

Gillis was a monster on guitar. It stunned me how really about four or five songs in when I went to get another drink the arena was filled with people still just hanging out in the perimmeter talking and getting drinks and hanging out and in no rush to go in to see Night Ranger when they were sounding so good. I loved, loved them. I couldn't hear for fifteen minutes afterwards. The floor was shaking from the vibration of their playing. My sister wasn't happy with them b/c of the vocals being too buried in the mix except ballads. It would have been nice to hear the vocals just a little more in the forefront, but like I said before, I don't care as they're a guitar-driven band and showed it last night. It was amazing to see Deen playing with them as their drum kit is set to the side instead of the back, so really got to watch Deen in action. Whoever didn't like his hair, I disagree. I loved his hair.

And, yes, to Isla, all the guys came in for the meet and greet and were really in a great mood and looked great. It was very rushed b/c of time constraints. I heard Jon yell out something laughing. But Jon isn't my Jon. I'm a Neal fan first and foremost and absolutely adore Arnel. He is an absolute joy to watch on stage and is so gracious in person. But I love the whole band and loved seeing them cutting up and laughing when they came in. Deen looked great, too, very healthy. So whatever was going on with him healthwise in Europe is over.

Gayle, Jennifer and I saw them in Grapevine Texas at the Glass Cactus. We were right at the stage. It was a great show. If you're jonesing for some great guitar work, this band will give you that fix. And Jack and Kelly still sound fantastic vocally. We got to speak with the keyboard player, Christian Matthew Cullen, after the show, and he was a super nice guy. I don't remember what we talked to him about because I was trashed.

Sound is good but crappy vid with my little camera since we were far away, my usual concert partner couldn't go, so when my co-worker wanted to go, and this was her first rock concert, she didn't want the floor, and I didn't want her ears to suffer being close for her first one, lol. So mostly video of the video on the big screen, lol:
