Arnel's newness is gone so its pivotal. If not successful, it could be their last.

The newness of Arnel is only gone around here. I can't tell you how many twitters I've seen where the fan is just discovering that Steve Perry is an Asian guy and they didn't know SP was no longer with the band. And then there are the OMG - Arnel sounds just like Steve Perry!!! It's all new for these folks.

I voted that I want to see it succeed.

Which hater voted to see it crash and burn?

OK, I had to vote against the grain. My loonacy is coming out!!!! I don't want them to succeed without SP. I know it's wrong, but it's a Steve Perry thing.

It's ok, I'll recover. I had to just say it ONE TIME. I feel better now.

The fact they're touring generating revenue is a measure of success already. I'm simply curious how many diehard MR fans are for them now compared to pre Revs.

Yes, it a measure of success. I agree with that. They have every right to go on just the way they are doing. I respect that, but I don't have to like it.

Ditto. Interested in too many other great hard-working artists, to care anymore. But I still really do want to see Deen doing Still They Ride, live, someday.

Aw come on. Hate em all you want, but why deny them success? If they write a strong enough album, and it sells on merit, and not some cluster fucked 3 disc set as 500K for platinum status, I am all for em to be successful. 1 disc for 1 million units and I will eat Tito's stool for an entire day.

Cain says Rev has now sold over 1million packages. (double platinum is the term he used).

Great point -- it's been amazing to see a new, younger audience discovering AP for the first time. In Pensacola, I was standing next to two guys that looked about 17 or 18 wearing t-shirts and ball caps. when Arnel hit the stage, they both got really excited -- one pointed and said, "Look! There's the guy!!!!" They also were ecstatic when Deen Castronovo was standing there at the end of Night Ranger's set, and handed them one of Kelly Keaggy's drumsticks... LOL!

I think it is double platinum now, meaning an official 1 million units shifted. We'll see but I think there may be a certification soon. So that would be 2 discs and 1 dvd for a mil.

I hope that they have a mild success at a new album just so that they don't fold. I really feel that if Journey had not continued and toured for the past decade, Perry would have disappeared from view. The band has kept his name out there by being somewhat relevant these past years, imo.

I don't really care ...I don't listen to/follow them anymore anyway. I do have a thing for the ex front men though... love me some Steve's!! Relatively new fan of SA,but read an interview where he states he is working on solo stuff and I gotta say I am pretty happy about that! Seems like a really great guy, didn't really follow his Journey career.. but will happily run out and buy his solo work when it come out.

Yes, I was listening to a few songs from that CD today. I don't like all of it, but Eternal Light,Stay and You Shall Be Free were pretty good.

i think arnel has breathed life back into this band again and they are going to try and keep on especially with the momentum gained from revelation.i think they intend to stay with arnel for the long haul.they just had a top five album so they must have a good feeling about how things stand so far with arnel.

When Perry joined they went from jam band to radio band. Every album starting with Infinity was better than the last until ROR. Sure Arnel recharged them but can they strike gold twice?

Arnel's a draw for media and concerts but not sure if he's "part of the band" when it comes to creative input. That might be good to see happen. Will Jon let it happen or is AP destined to be simply the hired gun?
