MR fantasy hockey league

Postby Uno_up » Fri Sep 25, 2009 12:37 pm

I'm starting up a MR fantasy hockey league. Looking for 10-12 teams...Treetop, Rockindeano, Behshad and Triple S are in. There are a few more I have spoken to that are still thinking about it (BJG, are you in?).

There will be a live draft, this coming Sunday at 8:15 pm eastern time. (If you can't be there, you can always prerank your players prior to the draft, but I suggest being there, as the banter and smacktalk should be at a high level).

register at: http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/
League #: 121450
League Name: 5forfighting09
Password: Habs

Register ASAP before this puppy gets filled up. Non-North Americans are welcome too.

OK - just registered. I've participated in lots of hockey pools, but never one of these. This should be interesting, I have no idea what I'm doing so I guess I'll have to study the draft kit :) .

See Uno, that's why I haven't registered yet.........I don't even know what the heck a draft kit is? I love hockey, especially my Flames, but I don't really know who all the other players on other teams are. Never done a hockey pool before, so unless somebody wants to take me under their wing and walk this novice through it.....

And not quite sure I can actually type that password either.

I'll try to remember to register tomorrow. Crazy family stuff this week... hopefully what might happen won't happen and I'll remember about Sunday.

One of the most international sports ever. Come on now JFB.

Sweden, Finland, Russia, Czech P, Germany, Belarus and a few more in Europe alone love the sport.

Hell, SWE will give Canada all it wants in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Oh c'mon Deb - just download the draft kit from the site, it has everything you need to know! (or 'eenie meenie miney mo' works too  ). We can load our teams up with Flames players  .

I honestly have this thing dummied-down to the most basic of fantasy hockey leagues, so that every short-bus riders (like myself) can do it.

Instead of drafting forwards at specific positions (LW, C, RW), we just select 9 forwards. Add in 4 defenseman, 3 random players (we call them "utility guys" and 2 goaltenders as our active squad. It's so easy.

Deb, I'll even not draft that dude you call "Connie" just to "help" you.

Eight teams are in now...Triple S, Gin&Tonic, Treetop, Beshad, strangegrey, Uno (that's me), Proggie, & Rockindeano. We need two more. Four more would be even better!

Let me help too...
These are probably the best preseason rankings you'll find on the internet, much better than yahoo:
http://www.tsn.ca/fantasy_news/feature/?ID=11939

This is by far the best fantasy hockey site on the net for added help:
http://www.dobberhockey.com/

Now ANYONE on the fence has no excuse not to register.

OK, I just went through one of the mock drafts, and I have to say - I'm pretty sure I won't have the time (or the patience  ) to get through the live draft on Sunday. So if I just do some pre-ranking, sign in, check the auto-pick option, and walk away - am I good to go???
