NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

There are no video clips though; just a band picture with Oprah.

Thanks. I was just going to go look for any updated information. It doesn't say whether or not the entire show is going to revolve around Journey or if they're just going to get a little snippet of time like they did on Ellen. Still, my DVR is set. I hope they're not going to do DSB b/c that's been over done, but my guess is that's exactly what they're going to perform given the headline on Oprah's website. Oh well. We'll see. This will be the first time in something like five or six years that I've watched an Oprah show. Not a big fan of hers, but I'll be dropping by for Journey. :?

I was looking at my tv guide on dish network for the oprah show on October 2nd. It said "Arnel Pineda of rock band Journey's story and some person (cant remember their name) explains story of how she went from being poor to going to harvard. To me it sounds like it is going to be a show dedicated to certain people that have had hard times, but "Dont Stop Believen" and therefore get rewarded. Unfortuntely I dont think the show is going to have Journey on all that much other than maybe a 10-15 minute slot of 2 songs and then a short story of Arnel's life in there too.

that's too bad. If they truly get this Manila DVD out on the 2nd, at least it will be a great platform for some free publicity selling the DVD.

Per Wiki the Oprah show averages about 8.5 million viewers per original airing.

Great! Maybe Oprah will get some new fans too.

Yo, Oprah, you're pretty good and you've been around a long time, but Journey's been around longer.

And after the show, Journey goes off the tour circuit for the next year or so? I know their management said no Europe for 2010 but did Azoff stable them completely for next year?

If so, I wonder for what purpose? Spend a year rehearsing, making new music and putting more polish on their act?

If their next album is going to be more like what Bon Jovi is doing , blue collar type songs, I guess they will need a little more time to write. Writing on the road was what tthey said last year but it doesn't look like a lot of that happened this tour. Maybe Arnel having his family along put a kink into those plans of everyone being together. Yeah, I know Perry had his own bus too, on the Frontiers tour but when did their next album come out after that, three years later?

And hoping that the music scene doesn't change too much over the next few year and a half. The diehards will be there but younger fans have shorter attention spans.

We'll see if they outline their plans after the last show.

The more I think about it, the more it would not make sense to take a year off. They have built incredible momentum with Revelation, both legs of the Revelation Tour, the Manila DVD and multiple TV appearances. At this point in their career, they've got to use this momentum and keep things rolling. They can't really afford to sit on their hands too long.

They're gonna tour next year. It probably just won't include the usual March mini-tour.

I'm fine with that. Use the time gained by not rehearsing for and touring in Europe to be able to write and record a little longer into December. Start the tour in late June or early July 2010, and have the album out in early June like Revelation.

From what I understand, playing festivals and 2k seat venues in Europe and Asia isn't exactly breaking the bank. Play O2, Wembley or the Tokyo Dome by yourself, then the the trip is worth while, financially.

I agree. They have great momentum with Revelation and with Arnel. With the Manila DVD coming out and the Documentary and a new album on the horizon, I couldn't believe they would miss this opportunity to capitalize on it all. The second year in now Arnel is really settling in with Journey as far as people are getting to know him as the lead singer with Journey and he is showing real growth as their frontman, so I see next year as a great year for them.

All I know is that Journey really needs to get somebody else to manage their website. A few months back it read that Journey was playing Detroit on September 26 (tonight) which we all know isn't true. Now, TODAY, it says Journey's appearance on Oprah is also on September 26!!! What's up with the date September 26th!!! Oprah doesn't even air on the weekend. They really need to hire someone (named Jason  ) to manage their website----someone who can type & read a calendar.

I love the layout on this site. You get the rock and roll feeling with all the car elements and easy navigation too. Not to mention the nifty jukebox player.

First, I would hope the prerequisite is that Jason be able to read a little more closely. The date of the posting is September 26. In the body of the news article it correctly says the appearance is October 2 - and has all along.

That's the first time I visited Foreigner’s site. That's a pretty cool layout. I got no problem with the Journey site layout either. I think it's sharp. Lori did a great job. They do need someone to keep their newsworthy info current, though. Plus, their message board/blog area is Neanderthal. They really need to revamp that whole thing & make it a little more user friendly, IMHO.
