Journey "In The Beginning" 1975 - 1977

Anyone have this two record album? It's great early Journey and Schon shines. It's pretty easy listening. It's probably the bands first compilation.

Yes, but not their first album. I don't have that one but I have "Journey".

RE: In The Beginning

Yes, it is a compilation of songs from their first 3 (pre-SP) albums. I have a copy in cd. I believe Columbia released it in 1980 as a "best of" the early days of the band. Pop-wise, they are the best songs gleaned from Journey-Into the Future-Next. Always thought Gregg Rolie has a nice singing voice.

First compilation, not first album.

Anyway I have it, love the artwork.

Why not just buy the first three? Then your not missing out on anything. Thats the first era of Journey I saw Live. Always have and will love all Journey. But those are my favorite years, as far as "Rockin". I had the first three on vinyl and now have them on CD. :D

I would love to have this too.

Did this ever come out on cd, or strictly vinyl ?

There is a lot on the first three that is kinda iffy. Even Neal said so. The compliation is easy listening and the guys, individully, shine. I would have liked "In The Morning Day," with vocals by Ross and Gregg, to have been added. It's really pretty good, imo.

Might be cd's here but appear costly.

I enjoy them all. Only "iffy" individually. ;) You have to listen to them all to decide for yourself. Even Neal shouldnt make up your mind for "You". ;)
