So tell us, ladies.
Does size really matter?

Well, since I'm 5'3"...Soto is too tall,Arnel is too short....so once again, Steve Perry is just perfect.

No matter how much you brag about Pineda and his CindArnella story, You have to understand that if it wasnt for Steve Perry, not only wouldnt Mr Pineda have a job (&US green card) right now, but I highly doubt if the band Zoo would even exist. :)
So regardless of what pedestal you put Arnel on, look a bit higher up to see Perry & his loons looking down smiling at Arnel & plokkers ;) 8)

Are there still Plokker's?!?!? I thought that sight moved to a new Plokkerless sight?!?!?

B, I think Arnel will be up there w/us...Perry is his Hero, right!?!?!?

Of course I think SP has the best looks out of all of the singers for Journey. AP comes in at a very close second.

You lost me on the Zoo band part, they are not a Steve Perry/Journey tribute band, they are a cover band and still performing to date. So even with or without Steve Perry/Journey, Zoo band would still be there. They covered Led Zep, Aerosmith, U2, etc.. remember?

Arnel did not apply for this job, he was discovered through NGomez' youtube vids. He was discovered because of his talent and they contacted him.

The mere fact that you guys kept comparing Arnel to Steve Perry is a great indication that Arnel is doing a pretty good job. As I recall, Arnel replaced JSS or let's say Steve Augeri. But you guys keep forgetting about those two when talking about Arnel's accomplishments. So what gives?

I am very comfortable with my admiration and love for Arnel. I am enjoying what's in front of me now. I am not competing with the loons but I have every right to mention Arnel's accomplishments if somebody is trying to diminish it.

Looking down on us smiling? Do you think we care? NAH, life is too short, just want to enjoy this ride.

Yeah, If that were true that The Zoo and Arnel only existed because of Journey, then that would mean either that they are/were a Journey tribut band or that they only started up recently because Arnel joined Journey. The Zoo had really nothing to do with Journey or SP except they did a few tunes by them. If Journey/SP never existed, Arnel/The Zoo would have still existed. Maybe Arnel would have been hired to sing with a different band instead of Journey. Who really knows though. Arnel was singing with most of the Zoo members back when they were AMO way before anyone ever thought he'd be singing for Journey. Out of the hundreds upon hundreds of cover bands in the Philippines, Arnel/AMO were the best no doubt what so ever about that. So I'm confident it was only a matter of time that Arnel was going to hit it big time. Back then I originally thought (and hoped) that AMO as a whole would hit it big time as their own band. I never really would have thought in a million years Arnel alone would have been joining a classic American band. I personally knew Arnel and The Zoo's drummer and lead guitarist back in the 80's during the AMO Band days. They played more then just Journey tunes, they played just as much Heart, Europe, U2, Bon Jovi, etc. etc. as they played Journey. So basically it was a 1 in a million shot that anyone from AMO would end up being in Journey 20+ years later.

Im not putting Arnel and or his talent down. In the long run his obsessed fans like yourself turn more people against him and that is a fact. He was discovered because of his talent, but he was chosen to sing PERRYS songs. Had he not been for Perry, Journey and management, Arnel would still been singing in karaoke bars....
No one is trying to diminish Arnels accomplishment, but you pinheads try to make it seem like its the other way around and that what Perry accomplished doesnt mean shit, cause Arnel is so much better,,,,
The fact that you admit that you (and your clan) dont care, is what will always make you guys look even more weird than the loons ....

You wanna enjoy the ride, by all means do so, but dont forget who built this ride for you to enjoy ....

Well that's quite possible and true that "IF" there had never been a SP or Journey that Arnel would have still be singing as a cover band act. Quite possible. But like my father used to tell me when I was a little kid full of "If's", "and If your aunt had balls she'd of been your uncle." Meaning "If" is pretty much irrelevant when talking about something has has in fact all ready happened. Even though I support Arnel and all the other members of the original AMO, I still got to say that SP was the best. But as we've all at least read of the droning on about this subject, we don't have the option to choose SP to front Journey cause that just isn't ever going to happen. So to make life more enjoyable, and if we want to continue to be fans of the band Journey, we have to go with the next best thing to SP and that's AP. But it's incredible cause most people are comparing a 40 year old AP to what a 28 year old SP used to do. That's sort of a dissadvantage for AP and all the more to really respect the job he's doing. I wish Journey would just move on and commit to doing new material now though. We wouldn't be in the position to disbute who sings the songs better SP or AP cause we'd only have AP to compare with the new ones. But then that other topic....who would then go to see them since so many percent are only going to hear the classics.

Of course we use the term ladies loosely in this case.

Give it a rest Chubster. Arnel is a helluva singer, but in the wine garden of Journey , if Perry was the fresh grape , Arnel is nothing but the raisin , like or not ....

Raisin? LOL....give it up. Arnel is 42 and SP is 60. Who is the raisin?

You have to compare each of them at the prime of their time in Journey , stevew2JR :)

Wine improves with age. The older it gets, the better.

It's my personal preference. I find JSS more appealing than Perry. I don't think Perry is ugly. Just not manly looking enough for my taste. That's all.

This looks and antics of Perry got stuck in my mind and did not like it since. Sorry.

Nah, mine does. :) Perry is/was and probably always will be my 'all-time' favorite vocalist.....but out of my 3 faves, JSS definitely takes it for stage presence/sex appeal. He's got a natural fluidity and confidence on stage that SP and EM, and I love 'em to pieces, but sometimes can come across as adorably goofy.

Hey Deb...JSS has a way about him I will give him that 8) but for a frontman of this band Perry with that voice...well it just gets me everytime...and to me he got better with age..as he got more confident in himself he became a better frontman.

So yes JSS as a frontman has it.....for Journey it's SMFP

It's my personal preference. I find JSS more appealing than Perry. I don't think Perry is ugly. Just not manly looking enough for my taste. That's all.

This looks and antics of Perry got stuck in my mind and did not like it since. Sorry.

Just for the record, when it comes to the word manly....nobody beats Neal in that department.

Damn straight. And I think Jason might agree with that.

And Portland hands Jana the pom-pom's

Just look at my avatar and it says it all.

Here we go....

I'll pass with JSS as sexiest Journey frontman, least favorite frontman with Journey voice and stylewise. Didn't like his style (a lot of sloppy jersies) and more metalish and beat my chest type frontman. Though, he is a good-looking guy and does possess a lot of confidence in his own shows. But Perry was Better than him by a mile with Journey, a little goofy in early days with dragging his feet, but got great rythym going and his body was great in ROR concerts. And love Arnel and Steve A with Journey stylewise and lookswise as frontmen for different reasons with both.

We can make the same argument. Perry's obsessed fans turned more Pineda fans against SP. You have to remember that Arnel being announced as lead vocalist of an American band was a very big thing for the Pinoy music fans. We were very happy but some of Perry's fans rained on our parade. Most of us would have been content with Arnel being behind Perry's shadow all the time but people like jimmmytt (who used to post negative comments on all of Arnel's YT clips) and even some former members of this forum made some of us turn against Perry in retaliation to attacks against Arnel. Is it unfair to Perry? Absolutely! But the earlier insults thrown at Pineda were also unfair to him so that evens it out as far as the more hardcore Arnel fans are concerned.

You know what, we get it. Perry is great but we don't want it rammed down our throat. Wouldn't it be better if we discover it ourselves and not be constantly reminded by his fans every chance they get?

Ah, don't get all sensitive. What made Perry anyway was his great face, very nice features and soulful beauty when singing.

Now now, if we're going to have a holy war over SP's footwork, we really should shift forums ;)
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Exactly. Last I heard he was a lead singer with Journey was the topic, most appealing frontman.
