Must have been due to what he was wearing during this video:

Had he previously heard Perry sing and was he trying to sound like him?

It's my personal preference. I find JSS more appealing than Perry. I don't think Perry is ugly. Just not manly looking enough for my taste. That's all.

This looks and antics of Perry got stuck in my mind and did not like it since. Sorry.

Just for the record, when it comes to the word manly....nobody beats Neal in that department.

Damn straight. And I think Jason might agree with that.

And Portland hands Jana the pom-pom's

Just look at my avatar and it says it all.

Nah, mine does. :) Perry is/was and probably always will be my 'all-time' favorite vocalist.....but out of my 3 faves, JSS definitely takes it for stage presence/sex appeal. He's got a natural fluidity and confidence on stage that SP and EM, and I love 'em to pieces, but sometimes can come across as adorably goofy.

the guy in the blue top stating at 0.40 to 0.52 looks like Perry, the video is blurry the guy looks to thin to be Ross but I could be wrong.

I will be in the Philippines as a matter of fact. My wife is taking over the deed for house that was used as collateral for a loan I gave someone. Since I'm not a citizen there, she will have the house in her name. That's in Baguio, then we'll go to Boracay during the last week for a proper vacation.

You and your plokker friends need to realize one thing.

No matter how much you brag about Pineda and his CindArnella story, You have to understand that if it wasnt for Steve Perry, not only wouldnt Mr Pineda have a job (&US green card) right now, but I highly doubt if the band Zoo would even exist. :)
So regardless of what pedestal you put Arnel on, look a bit higher up to see Perry & his loons looking down smiling at Arnel & plokkers ;) 8)

You lost me on the Zoo band part, they are not a Steve Perry/Journey tribute band, they are a cover band and still performing to date. So even with or without Steve Perry/Journey, Zoo band would still be there. They covered Led Zep, Aerosmith, U2, etc.. remember?

Arnel did not apply for this job, he was discovered through NGomez' youtube vids. He was discovered because of his talent and they contacted him.

The mere fact that you guys kept comparing Arnel to Steve Perry is a great indication that Arnel is doing a pretty good job. As I recall, Arnel replaced JSS or let's say Steve Augeri. But you guys keep forgetting about those two when talking about Arnel's accomplishments. So what gives?

I am very comfortable with my admiration and love for Arnel. I am enjoying what's in front of me now. I am not competing with the loons but I have every right to mention Arnel's accomplishments if somebody is trying to diminish it.
Looking down on us smiling? Do you think we care? NAH, life is too short, just want to enjoy this ride.

Im not putting Arnel and or his talent down. In the long run his obsessed fans like yourself turn more people against him and that is a fact. He was discovered because of his talent, but he was chosen to sing PERRYS songs. Had he not been for Perry, Journey and management, Arnel would still been singing in karaoke bars....
No one is trying to diminish Arnels accomplishment, but you pinheads try to make it seem like its the other way around and that what Perry accomplished doesnt mean shit, cause Arnel is so much better,,,,
The fact that you admit that you (and your clan) dont care, is what will always make you guys look even more weird than the loons ....

You wanna enjoy the ride, by all means do so, but dont forget who built this ride for you to enjoy ....

Well the fact is, even with the recession, people are attending the concerts, so if there are people being turned off by me, many more are coming aboard. I never said that Perry's accomplishment is not important, those are your words not mine.

Actually, if not for Noel Gomez, Neal would have not seen the video of Arnel. You said, “Had he not been for Perry, Journey and management, Arnel would still been singing in karaoke bars”. This is business first and foremost. Actually Arnel was an apprentice for the first year. Yes, there should be thanks and gratitude but if Arnel did bad, do you think they will extend his contract? Isn’t it is more like a give and take. The band pays you but at the same time you are expected to perform and produce results, which he did.

On your previous statement, you made it sound like Arnel owes everything to SP, I beg to differ, the reason why Journey is getting attention is due to the fact that Arnel has the story, charisma, talent and working really hard. People are checking him out and liking what they hear and see. And of course with the band like Journey, how can you go wrong.

Sounding like Steve Perry is not that the ultimate test. Case in point, SA sounded more like SP; he fronted the band for 8 years but nothing really big happened to the band.

I took it somewhat of an insult when you said that the loons will be looking down and smiling, that's why I said, we do not care. You can't insult us and expect me not to respond.

Btw, Arnel is not karaoke bar singer, karaoke is music entertainment system providing prerecorded accompaniments to popular songs that a performer sings live, usually by following the words on a video screen. He's a band singer, who used to perform at Hard Rock Café and Bagaberde.

Arnel fronting Journey is more of a destiny where everything seems to fit at the right time.

Baguio to Boracay......horribly long drive, done it many times before. We would usually drive it in the middle of the night though cause it's much cooler and less conjested on the roads then. Just got to be careful and watch out for carabao pulling the wagons at night along the highway.....they don't put lights on them and we had about a half dozen really close calls in the year that I was over there in those parts of the Philippines. They walk them in the road at night and if your not careful you'll be looking up at a set of horns right in front of you with hardly any room to brake if your not careful. Almost shit my pants the first time we swirved around one of those at highway speed.

But at least in Baguio you can grow vegetables that you can't hardly grow anywhere else in the Philippines due to the climate like tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, string beans, etc. Nice and cool in Baguio. Your lucky to get a house there, since it's so limited and all.

I'll sell it if I have my way. A lot of people talk about retiring there but then you have a disaster like this flooding that jars you back to reality.

You should be able to get a great price for property that you would sell there. It's pretty high in demand for a house/land/property there.

Yeah, and if I acquired a house there it would be my luck that the inactive volcano that Baguio is would errupt for the first time in I don't know how long. But it's really mountainous there, so I think you would have more to deal with mud slides and not necessarily flooding. Most of the flooding I saw was in low land areas like in Pampanga where my then girlfriend lived. But when you don't have the flooding, mud slides or erruptions, it's a paradise to be there. No stress or worries in the world pretty much. My then girlfriend's house was made of about 95% bamboo. No glass windows or anything, was awesome. but those acts of nature can get things wrong in a heart beat.

Its simple really, during the history of Journey, the hay day years for them was with SP in it. So I would find it logical that the most popular singer would be SP. Many have bias without really even knowing it. I may also, that's why I think SP fit the look the best and was the most attractive of all the vocalists of the band. But again.....Arnel comes in a very close second IMO.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

I just can't mix the performance , stage presence, music ,writing abilities with sex appeal. I have my life and these performers have theirs.
