Had to dio the box root-and-grab w/ Revelation last year too.

Cover art is completely uninspired. Color choices of maroon type against black and very small type ...hard to read. I get the contrasting pictures...from serious to relaxed..... but more contrasting colors would have been better too, imo. No booklet! OK....not thrilled with the packaging...never thought they had a good logo ( the F in the split circle) either ...
BUT...in the end it's all about the music and the music's GREAT! With that said I'm going to check out the DVD now. 8)

Same here.

Reeeaal solid album overall.
Like Loverboy's last release, there is not a bad track on it.
Tho I'm getting distinct Kelly Clarkson vibes from "Just Give me a Sign."
I swear this sounds like something I heard on American Idol.

What I really liked about the DVD is how Mick gets to reflect on the band's history/legacy.
Unlike Journey, an eerily close soundalike of the original vocalist is not the main draw.
There is little element of gimmick here.
How great would it've been if Revelation re-shifted the focus back onto Neal as the founding member, rather than solidifying Perry's voice as the be-all, end-all?

I liked the DVD too. Well....some of the camera work between songs is a bit too quickly chopped and erratic...and I do think the art direction could be better for the stage as well as the vids (and the cover art) .....BUT ..overall it's a good concert DVD with a little insight between the music and the music is fantastic...vocals...guitar....great stuff!

This is one of the best overall music buys I've made in some time.....and all for 12 bucks? Can't beat that! I like that they didn't remake the classics and respected the past.....the concert footage was enough to show Hanson singing past songs and how it should be kept..to the stage.

Absolutely LOVE the new songs! Theres not one on it I don't like. Foreigner produced a winner!

Didn't check 'em out yet.
Based on the samples online, they sound pretty much the same to me.
Nothing too radical.

Well I'm on to Too Late now and I like the CD so far. It sounds a little more Adult Contemp. then I expected, but it sounds good to me and I suspect some of these songs need some room to grow on me.

So far, runaway favorite is In Pieces... great song, great lyrics. I'll Be Home Tonight was very nice so far too. Definitely a worthy effort overall.

It happens around 1:20-1:25 or so... anyone else hear that? Was my CD defective? Or does everyone have htat?

No, it's on mine too. Don't know what it is....if its from the keyboard or production or a little mouse was in the room.
Hey! Maybe Mr. Jingles joined the band !!

That and In Pieces are getting replays.

WICTL feels like an old Foreigner song already. As in a classic standard. Mark of a great tune.

Just picked up a copy on my way to work this morning. Popped it in, and if I'd been on a name-that-tune game show I would have without hesitation hit the buzzer after .5 seconds into the first song and said, "DOKKEN - Burning Like A Flame!" The fade-in guitar is identical. PLAGIARISM!!!!

I like the rockers some heavy guitars from Mick, Thom Gimble and Fredriksen...I notice the drummer from Mr Moonlight, Brian Tichy is back for the album, is he touring or is Bonham back in?
A ballad or 2 should've been shaved off, preferably in favor of another rocker. Hansen hits some impressive notes and throws in the odd Grammism for measure.

Do the first couple of notes in the main instrumental theme on track 3 remind anyone else of "Still She Cries"? Good song, but I keep expecting Perry's vocals to follow.

In Pieces, as TNC alluded to did have a big Loverboy "Just Getting Started" feel, I ca't think of which song, maybe "The One That GOt Away" or "Stranded."
And the inclusion of Mick's pet song "FFYA" redone is horrible. Just a boring tune, we're got the album version and 2 live versions of it already, enough!

Anyone know why "Waiting For A Girl Like You" was left off both the DVD and re-mixes?
It's not like it's a Lou Gramm solo song or anything.

Good question, haven't noticed that yet since I haven't gotten to the remixes or DVD yet. Isn't there a pretty big controversy about Lou's co-write on there? Maybe that's why? I don't know my Foreigner history like I know my Journey/Styx...

Maybe they thought they had too many ballads already on the combined package? The song is still popular. Cliff Richard did a cover version in 2007 that went to #13 on the UK Charts.
