The packaging art is fantastic inside and out. The camera work at the concert is very well done and the color on the DVD is excellent.

I guess that's do-able if all else fails since it's only about 50 miles. Thanks for the info. :D :D :D

Good news is I did pick up the new Foreigner. Bad news is the DVD skips. Just not my day.

not sure. One has to figure that it will get released that way one day. With the roving cameras, they didn't skimp on the money for this one. That being said, $10 for an uncut full-show 2 1/2 hour concert isn't bad at all.

Best news is that there isn't much--if any--overdubbing that I can tell on the vocals. Once Arnel lets the adrenalin run down a bit after the first couple of songs (too much CAN be a bad thing, actually!), he sounds pretty darn impressive. The best part is, unlike the Vegas/Revelation dvd, he actually sounds comfortable with the material. Amazing what a year of touring will do to your confidence level as a singer. Good stuff...

Oh c'mon. You know how this game works. They sell all they can of these, then some time later they re-release it in blueray, causing everyone to go buy it again. Then in a few yrs when tvs are even better than today, they release it again in whatever new format/resolution is available.

All capitalism aside though, the average American WM shopper probably doesn't own a blueray player. WM's target demographic is the lower & middle income family. High end electronics aren't quite in everyone's budget yet.

Anyha, I just want the audio. I'm not one to sit down, much less watch a concert for 2 hrs. (I still haven't even watched the Revelation dvd!) I can only assume that the audio track will be a future release also.

Okay it is better than Houston in my opinion. Sound and picture are amazing and I have to say as sick as I am of open arms it ROCKED with the extras in there. There is no disappointment at all in this dvd.

Worst Day Ever!!!!!
I live just south of Cleveland, OH. I got up around 10 AM and headed to a Walmart 5 minutes from me. The clerk checked in the back for the DVD said they hadn't gotten it in yet and that they get their shipment from the Anderson company and that it may not be in today. Four hours and three Walmarts later I gave up. Got home disappointed and checked this thread. I read the similar complaints by some of you and gathered some of your solutions. I headed to a Walmart 20 minutes away DETERMINED to get the DVD by any means necessary. Got there, told the Manager about the date mixup, and he checked the back. He found two cases of them, but wouldn't sell me any. He said it was a legal issue and that he wouldn't open the cases. I said my legal issue is false advertisement and that their website says its to be released today and as of midnight it would be false advertisement. He just apologized and walked away!!!!!!!!! So im assuming that Walmart or Anderson will get sued out the ass by irate hardcore journey fans, and KISS management for selling the KISS CD early to some of you lol!!! IMO they deserve it.

I complained about the same thing on a previous thread, however, I have to say I was blown away with the quality. In fact, it looked better 90% of the time than HD cable. Anytime a camera came from Neal's side it looked a little dark and grainy, but other than that you'd never know it wasn't HD. Actually, this disc has made me confused, unless the up-conversion of my PS3 is just that good? The color was outstanding.

And the show...WOW...24 songs..lots of rarities, and yeah..Schon, Deeno and Arnel were amazing. A really great performance. Best version of Open Arms I've probably seen...and terrific versions of DSB, Faithfully, Anyway you want it and Separate Ways. 8 songs off Revelation. Crowd was alive after 15-20 minutes. I am really happy.

On to the encore.....cool guitar solo from Neal to start it off.

Arnel is a dynamo and he interacts well with the audience.....he is also in good voice. One thing thats noticable is that the band loves him....and when he flashs one of his infectious smiles at any one of them they cant help but smile back. :)

Shoulda told him to check the Walmart site at one of the kiosks... says right there... blatantly "10/02/2009". Regardless of what the boxes in back or packaging says, it is advertised as 10/02/2009 and has to be sold to you. That manager was definitely a douche and if the other two parties deserve to be sued, so does he. Was this by any chance the Walmart in Streetsboro across from the Sheetz?

That's exactly what I had to do, and the manager was fumbling thru it. I gave him the title "Journey In Manila" and he types in just "Journey", then proceeds to slowwwwwwly scroll through the items one at a time, peering at each description. I held up my iPhone with the photo ready, then he sorted it by newest release and found it.

I am going to call WM HQ and tell them about our dilemna and what could be done to improve it. I don't think this is a simple mistake -- I believe they just haven't considered the sales opportunity they're missing by not having the product out at midnight sharp. Maybe one or two goofballs like myself show up asking, but we're also on the Web drumming up hype and excitement, and buying up multiple copies. Do you think anyone had to hassle a store manager into digging in the back for X-Boxes the day they came out? Heck no -- they fully understood the hype and planned for it. They just need to learn the same for music.

Well i just called that manager, gotta love 24 hour stores. I told him I understand his position. He told me unless corporate sends them an Email they can't break a street date (Date on the Box). Corporate is open from 9am to 9pm on Saturdays and the number is 1800 Wal Mart. I call for a rally on anyone who has been denied the pleasure of this DVD to call and email complaints till Corporate tells them to break the street date lol. VIVA LA JOURNEY lol. And no this wasn't the Walmart in Streetsborrow, although I am not far from that one.

I just finished watching the whole thing & I especially like that last part.... the BONUS feature where Perry surprised the audience & he came out onto the stage & ripped his shirt off & threw it out into the audience & all the women screamed, “WE LOVE YOU, STEVE” & then he & Arnel did that duet of "Escape" while Neal rocked out his solo on the catwalk & then all the women threw themselves at Jon & so then Deen had to stop in the middle of playing his drums & he shoved Ross out of the way & Ross did that back flip over the speaker & then Deen made that Matrix-like maneuver where he flew threw the air in slow motion to rescue Jon from all the groupies just before Perry offered himself as a sacrificial lamb to the now uncontrollable audience so that he could divert their attention away from Jon, thus saving him.

That's the part I liked.

Okay, so that didn't happen.

I won't get my DVD until next week so I have to improvise till then.

Love it....asking for a product on the AFTERNOON of the release date is a "special request"

"special" indeed :)

What's w/ the alibiing? Manager should pull that dude into a room. Even in this day and age "the customer is always right."

Can anyone upload any video's straight from the DVD to youtube to hold me over. Anyone who has the DVD already please spread the joy....i can't believe im saying that 24 hrs after it was SUPPOSED to hit the shelves. BTW the same complaints are all over Journey's website, you'd think they'd call and get this straightened out to get their product to their fans. Oh well better luck tomorrow....
