Love this guy's other tweets as he tries to tweet the setlist .. http://twitter.com/parrygripp

I'm about to watch the band Journey. No, I am not at a county fair.
Seperate ways - way!
This song is called "something something lonely"
This Filipino Steve Perry is amazing!
Dude is doing a big long guitar solo - the kind where the rest of the band goes off and eats some churros.
Stone in love
If I miss " when the lights go down in the cit-ay" I'm going to go berserk.
The keyboard guy just did a big solo. It was very emotional.
Oh! They're playing open arms! People are going crazy!
I love you Filipino steve Perry!
This is the part of the concert where a guy plays harmonica.
Wheel in the sky.
Wow. This is the longest version of wheel in the sky ever.
Song from new album.... I could really use that churro.
If they don't play "faithfully" soon, I am going to cry.
Lovin, touching, squeezing! Everyone is standing and going crazy!
Be good to yourself.
Good lord! They're playing "faithfully"! And I'm crying!
Whoa-oa-oa-oa-oa. People are waving their arms back and forth!
Oh my god! Just a small town girl! It's mayhem here! Ahhhhhhhhgggg!!!
That was the most incredible version of don't stop believing I have ever heard! Old ladies were playing air guitar! It was awesome!
Any way you want it
That was great! Arnel Pineda is the best singer of journey ever

Night Ranger & Journey...

This show was a blast to shoot. It started out great when we photographers found out that we could shoot from the pit vs. the wings, which is where we were suppose to originally shoot from. That was followed up by good lighting and seasoned showmanship. It's a shame that the music world often forgets about talent like this and moves on to what is supposedly the next best thing.

By the way, if you are one of those people who thinks Journey is not Journey, without Steve Perry (like I thought), think again. Arnel Pineda brings it in a whole new way, and yes... he does sound just like Steve.

Have a gander...

Review from JF...........

Happy Feelin's.....
Saturday, October 3, 2009 - 4:57 pm - Plumeria14k

There's a song called "Happy Feelin's" by Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly, that I was thinking about while watching this concert last night. This was my 4th Journey show this year and this one was the best. Not just because of the band, but because of the audience. Santa Barbara was really a Journey crowd. They showed up to have a good time. There were some very, very happy people at the show last night. Most were on a natural Journey high....some were also floating from the beverages that they were drinking...and then a few folks had a little extra help getting their happy on. Apparently, "no Smoking" signs were interpreted to apply only to cigarettes by some. Several people felt free to smoke things that I'm sure they were using for required medicinal purposes only... Anyway, the people last night were really into the band. Lots of Journey t-shirts being proudly worn.

Before the band even came out, some of the crowd got anxious and started clapping and whistling, wanting things to get started. Once things got underway, the audience seemed to have a really great time. Lots of dancing, lots of singing along to the songs....lots of appreciation being shown for the great music. Real party atmosphere, people even started tossing a beach ball back and forth to each other.

The band more than rose to the occasion with a very energetic performance that had some change-ups in some of the song arrangements from previous shows this year. Also change-ups as far as the set-list order. So last night felt really different from the other shows that I saw this year. It's cool when you can see multiple performances within a couple months and there's something different about each show. The band was probably really tired as they wind down this tour, but you couldn't tell that from their crowd pleasing performance onstage last night.
