Makes me want to give steev a sympathetic shoulder pat.

I don't people really think about all the down-sides there is to being a famous 'rock star'. :(

Jon Cain proving once again what a classy guy he is. Nice of Steve to reward him by denying him entry to his high school gym solo concert. But, like I've always maintained, when you did to your bandmates what Perry did, it's hard to look them in the eye.

Too bad his band-mates were not more considerate of his pipes. Guess he was just a $ sign to them. I guess now they are somewhat learning to preserve their vocalist with solo city.

Like I maintain, your love/hate for SP makes me think that mentally you're not playing with full deck.

What the fuck do his bandmates have to do with scheduling shows?!?! Anyway, below is his solo tour. Notice that there's not much rest for a 45 year old man singing a demanding schedule. But I suppose this, too, is the fault of his bandmates. The bolded parts showcase extreme recklessness (5 shows in a row and 10 shows in 12 days).

Singers are almost always the band's most recognizable figure. Journey was no different.

You really have to be kidding me blaming his bandmates for not being considerate of his pipes. Steve was driven and has said so and even said they were on a mission back then, or something like that. He was no shrinking violet.

You really need to go back to school and acquire some reading comprehension skills. I have always maintained that Steve Perry is the greatest singer that I have ever heard and that his legacy should be sealed with a final tour instead of the blatantly misleading way he exited. There was never going to be a TBF tour....never. Even doing one final show would close his chapter with some sense of finality for the fans, an olive branch for his bandmates, and some reciprocation for the way he conned the label, the fans and his "brothers" from 1996-1998. And Neal and Jon most certainly owe Nostrildamus an apology for having songs he "bled" for fucking lip-synched.

You are confused, dear - Dan is refering to an interview where JC talked about why he thought SP left; he said something about the passion and emotion with which SP sings, describing it as 'every time he went out he bled a little'.

In other words, SP was killing himself piece by piece to sing those songs, to make them authentic, and NS and JC had someone lip-synch them, the ultimate fake, for which they should apologise to SP.

Unconfused now? :D
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

"You really have to be kidding" you and SJ are constantly blaming Perry, huh? If your statements of his being driven were true, then that's all the more reason for you two to let up. He gave his all, to proud to resort to lipping or solo city to preserve his voice. Like someone stated before, it was all or nothing for SP, no half-a__ job. By the way, each was responsible for himself, no minors were under contract. So SJ needs to relinquish that "he" held, stopped them, blah blah blah rhetoric.

By the way Jana, a while back you responded so negatively to a post of Madsplash, where you stated that it was good that Perry was forced to do TBF and that he did not care anything about his bandmates. I guess he was expected to make everyone's life happy, happy in spite of being "toast", as he stated. The voice is just not like the fingers.

Constantly blaming Perry? Nope. I always state what I perceive the facts to be when other posts are started blaming Neal and Jon about Perry leaving. So I call it defending their actions. My reply was to your post blaming the band members not being considerate of his pipes back in their heydey. I said nothing mean about Perry. I never start a topic against Perry, only reply to negative comments blaming other band members all the time when I disagree. Love his voice. Most people think I'm fair on here regarding all the members for the most part even if they don't agree with me.

I believe it was said earlier that Perry could have possibly done a double bill of those shows, because they were more or less sing a little, dance, talk to tux, audience cheer and on and on.... Voice may not have ventured way up yonder.

Singers are almost always the band's most recognizable figure. Journey was no different.

Indeed, most responsibility I guess more or less lies with the SINGER and is probably the first casualty. Thanks for clarification!

Does that mean you're competent enough to realize the errors of your ways and you apologize? (And if I buy that I may want to try selling myself that swamp land in GA, huh?)

Don't post often so hopefully nothing over-runs, ha ha.
