i can imagine paul commenting on a band that only played one song off of their new album," then the album must not be any good"

2- He also indicated that the tour may not go past December. What about this so-called FAN ROUTED tour? Two cities in very close proximity to me finished in the top 30 of the fan votes and NEITHER are on the tour schedule. Makes me wonder, also, from seeing them on Letterman the other night if maybe his voice is going. The band was tight but vocally, he sounded like ass. Perhaps they want to cut things short??

Do you have a link for the interview?

What I thought I read earlier was they were only doing Delilah for now because this was still the end of the Alive 35 Tour. And it sounded like it would/could then extend into the Sonic Boom tour.

I wonder if there has been a change in plans?

Kinda what I thought too, but here's an excerpt:

HOW MANY OF THE NEW SONGS WILL YOU PLAY ON THE TOUR?

... We'll play "Modern Day Delilah" because that's on the radio.

AND THAT'S IT?

That's it. Again, what do we take out? C'mon and Love Me? Love Gun? Shout It Out Loud? God of Thunder? Firehouse? Deuce? Strutter? What do we take out?

He mentions earlier that the ALIVE 35 will just sort of morph into SONIC BOOM.
Here's the link. You guys check it out- maybe I'm missing something.
http://kissasylum.com/Archives/News/200 ... Life.shtml

Then there's this comment, which I couldn't disagree MORE with:
EVERYONE KNOWS THOSE. BUT WOULD YOU GO DEEP, DEEP INTO THE CATALOG AND PLAY OBSCURE STUFF?

I'm a big believer that the reason certain songs are obscure is because they deserve to be. That's why they're obscure. They're obscure because the general public didn't embrace them. I remember going to see the Stones one night where the big draw was that they were playing the more obscure stuff. You sat there and went, I kinda know why this stuff's obscure. Let me hear "Honky Tonk Women," let me hear "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Let me hear "Start Me Up." Let me hear the stuff I wanna hear. This is the stuff that I skipped over on the album, why would I wanna pay to hear it now?

Yet he did MAGIC TOUCH, A MILLION TO ONE, etc on his solo tour...seems a bit of a contradiction to me.

paul griped about being TRAPPED by the old songs because thats all ace and peter could play.. yet , this is all they play now..

nothing off of .. crazy nights, HITS, Revenge, COS, Psucko Circus, Asylum.. yet they play shock me and cold gin.. paul is

very complicated..

I do remember in 2004 they played War Machine, Unholy, and Tears are Falling (selected shows), and Psycho Circus

before that did Heavens on Fire.

I don't think they will ever play anything off of COS.

I think we'll hear more from Sonic Boom. Like he said...The tour is gonna morph into it.

The Alive/35 tour ends in December. Next year's tour will be called "Sonic Boom". The tour is supposed to run through the summer of 2010.

Dude, that's not what Stanley is saying in this interview. He's indicating that the tour they are on NOW is morphing in SONIC BOOM, and he's very nebulous as to where (or if) they'll play after the first of the year. AND they've already played the "winning city" in the fan routed tour, so that would indicate to me they're already on it.

RIGHT? :D

The tour is planned out months in advance. They've talked about hitting Australia, Japan, the U.K., and Europe. They have to determine if they'll go back to S. America. They also have to decide if they'll do another U.S. leg (this time "Sonic Boom" tour) next spring or summer. Gene and/or Paul stated that the tour would continue through the summer of 2010.

I don't know what the sales have been like for the Alive/35 shows in the central, southern, and western areas of the U.S. If the sales are good then I would see them adding more U.S. dates next year. If the numbers are down, they'll just play more shows internationally.

BTW, if Paul says that he doesn't know if they'll play more, it's just a way to sell more tickets to the current tour. "Get 'em while you can".

Yeah, that's probably the most likely scenario. I wonder how sales are? As I recall the ROCK THE NATION tour sold pretty well. And you'd think with BUCKCHERRY on the bill that would bring in some folks. I jsut hope they make it aournd my way, as I'd love to see em at least once more.

Nashville is fairly close, but that's about it. And with work and the kiddies, a road trip this month probably ain't happening.
