But what I'm dying to take into the lab is just the audio. Clipping is kinda hard to work with, because that was the original file. However, I think I can separate it enough, and lessen the volume peaks without toning it down or flattening it. I think what makes this show so hot, is the punchy crispness of every single instrument's "sonic universe" if you will. And you just can't isolate that from any recording. Something about this performance, clearly shows that the engineers and/or the software used had everything right on the edge of being over-done...which often comes through as a distorted mess. However, this is a lucky keeper because it's just short of being over-the-top.
Having the original live feeds would certainly be a gem. I hope the band, or someone, does something with it. If polished & produced just right, this could be the hottest rock show that Journey has ever done.

Ill do that instead ,dont want to hear to whole show plus ill get some kind of virus and shit, how many times can i hear Dont Stop Beleiving anywaykgdjpubs wrote:stevew2 wrote:that link sucked. to slow i not waiting 12 min to here one journey song
you have to download the entire show (all 6 parts) to get anything. Then, you get a 70 minute full concert....or just go to youtube and type in Journey Graspop and listen to the clipped audio version and realize what you are missing!

The videos don't do it justice. It's actually the flow and energy of going from great song to great song, all rock, and like Arkansas said, the amazing sound on all the instruments and the way the concert is shot that makes it great. A clip here or there doesn't showcase that.

no it really doesn't. If you're going to try with the youtube though, here's the setlist.
1. Seperate Ways
2. Stone In Love
3. Ask The Lonely
4. Change For The Better
5. Lights
6. Edge Of The Blade
7. Wheel In The Sky
8. Chain Reaction
9. One More
10. Wildest Dream
11. Faithfully
12. Don't Stop Believin
13. Anyway You Want It
It's the part from Edge of the Blade through Wildest Dream where it goes into overdrive, and the energy level is through the roof. That is pure hard rock for 5 songs uninterrupted (or about 27 minutes). You don't hear from this band very often at all--and they are firing on all cylinders. A lot of people were saying Journey was one of, if not the best band of the festival. That's saying something, especially since you would think they would be out in left field at a show like this given their normal setlist.

you don't listen to that show for Don't Stop Believin'. You listen to it for the good stuff (ie One More, Chain Reaction, etc). Just understand that the audio on the full video for download is about 100x better.
SYNCH wrote:alesson wrote:SYNCH wrote:sonorstks wrote:file corrupt?
I downloaded all "Dropbox links" .rar files. Download all 6 parts and put them in the same folder. Use Winrar to extract one of them and it will automatically merge them. You can't extract just one of them without downloading the other parts
Downloaded all..file no 5 and 6 are corrupted. Can't complete the extraction process.
I guess I have to go back and download 5 & 6 again.![]()
I think they're the same files that are in MediaFire and Dropbox. I believe if you download from whichever link, they will still merge. I recommend Dropbox as I was able to download them completely

Just to clarify, you downloaded the 6-part Flash video from SYNCH's ultimatemetal.com link, or did you have another source? What I got from there after assembling the 6 parts was just a 500MB+ FLV that wasn't anywhere near HD, but didn't seem to have the low frame rate either. If I tried to view it full screen it would look rough.
kgdjpubs wrote:have you actually listened to it? It's considerably more rocking and heavy than you think it is by simply looking at the setlist. With the jams and extended songs, keys WAY down in the mix, guitars way up in the mix, and the considerably faster live pace of One More/Wildest Dream compared to the studio cuts, I'd call it hard rock. Certainly the heaviest I've heard Journey since probably the Frontiers & Beyond Philly '83 show.

I really wish they would put this up on Paladium (sp), but I'm just happy I got it
I might get the hang of this computer thing yet.

I'll clean this up and burn it.
Thanks so much!

do you mind sharing the cleaned copy?
steveo777 wrote:You guys are happy with the quality of this thing?
Video when zoomed to full screen is grainy and drags in places.
Audio...I don't think this distortion is good for my speakers.
I have heard rumors of a good quality DVD of this out there, but what we have is definitely NOT it!
I was really hoping for something I could burn a DVD of straight up and it would be decent. What's a bummer is that this is a great show.

I've downloaded it in different site with 3 parts rar file links.
