Some guy I never heard of, punked them and debuted at #1. Ace is still charting after 4 weeks, which is a surprise. Foreigner is still doing well and Steel Panther is up to #98. Wish they would've release the album all in the same week (did the download release a week earlier) to see where it could've truly debuted. It is the #1 comedy album for the second week in a row though.

Is it Michael Bublé?!?!? I heard that was really doing well!!

Yes, who the fuck is he too?

This one's for you Tito. :D

I don't understand it over Kiss, but he has a really huge following and is very popular in many different age brackets.

It still makes me laugh when I think back on how to some people, Pineda's hiring meant no new music from Journey and just the greatest hits from here on out since he was a "Perry mimic."

I was sold on Arnel the first time I heard him sing faithfully on youtube. His infectious smile and powerful voice did it for me and see the live and watching him and Neal interact together is very refreshing. Most exciting thing since Perry for me for sure even though I did enjoy JSS and Augeri as well.
You forgot how "he's gonna be treated like shit and thrown under the bus." Hell, Neal's traveling 10,000 fucking miles to do a benefit show with him!!! Sounds like their relationship sucks.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The underestimating was being done by all of the Soto blowhards. "Journey's done!" and "This band is an embarrassment and they're finished!" was the battle cry. They've had back to back incredible tours, a double Platinum album, the #1 DVD in the land and Soto continues to fly under the radar.

I have to agree, but with no sense of glee. Soto is an incredibly talented musician, who i think is about to release his best work to date. Will it sell bucket loads? Probably not, but that does not diminish the talent on offer.

My post was in no way a slight or dig at Soto. He's a 20+ year professional singer and that's incredibly difficult to do. He deserves accolades for taking care of himself and making many diverse variations of music. That said, he's probably, at best, slightly above mediocre/average, as far as professional singers go.

The RIAA doesn't show it as such so I have no idea.
Awarded platinum 12/28/2008. That's it.

It fell from 63 to 136 this week on Billboard's chart. It may have shipped 1 million packages ( two million discs) but there has to be an audit to determine if those are actual sales before it gets it's certification.

Sony used to be notorious for touting shipped numbers instead of actual sales figures.

They might just be waiting for Triple Platinum. It's well over 1 million units shipped (2 million albums). 1.1 million or more. It sells about 1,500-2,500 every week...with sporadic spikes due to publicity and/or promotional appearances.

It could very well be double platinum and they are just waiting on the audit to finish which takes a few months (I believe they originally went platinum in Oct08 but weren't certified until Dec08).
We'll just have to check back with the RIAA board in December.
