When You Love A Woman

Postby KDOUBLEU » Fri Oct 16, 2009 10:01 am

I just got done watching the When You Love A Woman video. All I can say is I sure hope Mr. Perry decides to give us some new music soon because no matter what his voice sounds like (I dont care if he sings bass now) it is going incredible. That guy needs to be singing for the whole world to hear. Its time, come on already!

I agree wholeheartedly, Deputy Dog. 8) Loved the WYLAW video (although I never really cared much for the song). Such is my loonish mania that I am actually not looking forward to Christmas this year, instead, I'm actually looking forward to the new year (2010) and the faint possibility of Perry's new music...is that wrong? :? I'm just askin'

For me, it's It's Just The Rain even more so than WYLAW 8) The video, not feeling it.

Journey does a fantastic live version of this song on the #1 selling Manila DVD :)

Love the song and the video for it. Wayne Isham did a stellar job on the video! He directed some of my all-time favorite videos from the 80s and 90s. Especially the live footage vids.

And they did a great studio version of it on the legit platinum selling Trial By Fire, that debuted at #3 on the ACTUAL top 100, not the adult contemporary top 100.

What's your point?

Point is it's terrific that Journey is able to play it live and included a version of it on the top-selling music dvd in the country now, other than that, no point.

That's the way I took your comment. Great to hear such an amazing song live in concert, and Journey did a wonderful job. Glad to have it on the DVD as part of the concert. 8)

Oh, yeah, good idea. Then with the Perry photos, we can add Neal photos and Jon photos and Arnel photos and Deen photos and even Ross photos  since it would be a Journey forum.

Look, I'm very happy for the band and think Arnel does a good job, but it is what it is.

You spouted a fact and I spouted an even more impressive one.

So true....talk about jolting you right out of the mood. I clicked on one of the youtube videos of this song, performed by the new Journey by accident. Not pleasant to my ears,it's like when you order an ice cold Coke, and they bring you an RC Cola instead (believe me I can tell the difference in a big way!).

You can love the original the best and of course tell the difference, and it doesn't mean you can't really enjoy someone else singing it live. I'm not one of those. Maybe some on here genuinely don't like Arnel's singing, but there's even more that will just instantly say it's bad and enjoy dissing him. Even Loon Gunbot said it was the highlight of his show. It's great on the Manila DVD live, and to enjoy it doesn't take away from or mean I don't love, love Perry and listen to WYLAW on TBF.

I didn't mean that Arnel doesn't have a good voice (he does). I meant when he or even Steve Augeri (who I really like a lot btw) sing this song, they do nothing for me reguarding mood and emotion. Infact it's "jolting" instead of soothing to me.
