Grumbling, complaining and general dissent from the sidelines is just that-nothing more.

Are you complaining about the fact that people were complaining about the fact that she won?? I can understand that. It just seems you're assigning way more to this than is warranted by the facts presented.

It's not that she won. That part is irrevelant... It's the WALK OUT part of the "Unhappy She Won Because She's White" crowd that I think he's getting at. If there was a black winner at some pagaent, and the whites protested or walked out, then ol' Jesse and friends would start a marching...

Some would argue that the other 11 months are basically "white history months" which is why one specific month was established to focus on African-American contributions to American History. However this, IMO, begs the question "Why can't we take 28 days worth of Black History and mix it in with the other 337 days?"

You, make a good point... he's bi-racial which makes him the first bi-racial president. Oh! btw BET is white owned and has been for years.

Also, what if a black woman won a pageant at a predominantly white university and the white students complained about it? Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would start a race riot over it.

This is reverse racism big-time!

Exactly. And these double standard things only only count when it happens to them. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Look at the facial expressions on those sore losers. Priceless! Now there will be legislation trying to keep out white gals from entering. Watch.

The name was not changed so they could keep black viewers.... you see back when BET was started MTV didn't showcase black artist ( Micheal Jackson was the first black artist showcased on MTV).... the purpose of BET was the allow black people an outlet to enjoy the new music video craze like MTV was doing for the white population, now don't get me wrong black people watched MTV also, but the lack of black artists on MTV is what lead to the birth of BET, you see after you've been excluded so long sometimes you just get tired of knocking on the door and being turned away and decide it's easier to stand up on your own two feet and create your own advantages in this world and stop begging for a handup from those who don't want to or can't help you . What's really sad is the fact that black people have to have black schools, holidays, and social events in in the first place. What's even sadder is people on this forum mocking and speaking disrespectfully about the things that are a source self awareness and improvement for the black American . In this country if you're white you have an open door to everything and anything if you want it. also in this country white people don't have to have white schools, holidays. social events or a white history month in order to have self awareness . no one has ever denied white people the right to any of these things.. white people have never had to be watched over by federal troops just to safely enter a college to get an education etc. so why mock the black culture just because a few dingbats didn't want to lose a stupid meaningless contest, if they were being racist then i'd be the first to say they are wrong. The young lady that won, won because she had something that set her apart from the others and being white probably had not a thing to do with it.... and by the way none of those young girls are dogs they are all pretty girls .

This. The "us" and "them" has to stop somewhere, and if it's not going to be "them", that isn't a valid reason to keep it going on "our" end with some of the comments made in this thread.

Sadly, I think it will never end.

The winner is the least attractive by far. Rather than having a beauty contest next year they should have eye exams. The girls to either side of the winner are attractive and the one on the far right of the picture looks like Willis from Different Strokes.

I could very well agree with this statement if it was still the 50’s or the 60’s or any of the decades that preceded them, but it’s not. I can’t help but think some blacks want to dwell on the past, rehashing stories of federal troops on stand-by at colleges & rehashing stories of Rosa Parks & so forth if it will help them to further their cause, which often seems to be “keeping the white man down.” However, circumstances such as those are becoming rare in today’s society. Blacks have Affirmative Action protecting them. They have Fair Housing Laws up the ying-yang making sure their not discriminated against. They have umpteen zillion academic scholarships that by virtue of being black only they are qualified to receive.

Besides, why is it when black people talk of injustices based on race you never hear any of them mention the three civil rights workers who were slain in Mississippi back in 1964? Oh, that’s right----two of the victims were white. (My bad.) And why do we hear about the Rodney King beating as an example of senseless race related crimes, but nothing about the beating Reginald Denny took when a bunch of guys cornered off his truck & pulled him out of the cab & beat his head into the pavement almost killing him? Oh, that’s right—Reginald Denny was a white guy & his assailants were a bunch of black guys who were pissed off at “the system.” And why do we hear about Martin Luther King (whom I adore, btw) & Malcolm X (whom I don’t), but you never hear one black person ever mention Abraham Lincoln, who, if it weren’t for him, there might still be slavery?!?!

I dated a black girl once. It last all of 7 weeks. She was funny, beautiful, smart & witty. I really liked her. Problem is her daddy thought I was James Earl Ray & so he ran me off his property.

It irritates me that in this day & age some people just can’t seem to move on from past oppressions. Yes, there is still racism ..... & ageism ...... & sexism ....... & so on ....... & so on ....... & so forth ...... & there always will be. It’s never going to go away completely, but dwelling on the past & throwing it up in white America’s face at every interval is never going to result in any positive future gain.

Like my signature line implies, "Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't."
BTW, since I've seen it written on this board in a couple of other places as well, I just want to clear up the misconception: I don't do slurpees. Ain't into bukkake either.
I have standards, ya know.
I can't go into too much detail on the main board, but feel free to PM me with any other questions. I don't bite.

Great, Some Puerto Rican dude should start W.E.T!!!
In this country if you're white you have an open door to everything and anything if you want it. also in this country white people don't have to have white schools, holidays. social events or a white history month in order to have self awareness . no one has ever denied white people the right to any of these things.. white people have never had to be watched over by federal troops just to safely enter a college to get an education etc. so why mock the black culture just because a few dingbats didn't want to lose a stupid meaningless contest, if they were percentbeingbeing racist then i'd be the first to say they are wrong. The young lady that won, won because she had something that set her apart from the others and being white probably had not a thing to do with it.... and by the way none of those young girls are dogs they are all pretty girls .

So, I hear you saying it's ok for some people to mock and belittle other people who look different, and if the people who are different speak out and want to know why such an ugly generalized attack on their culture and race then they should just look past the hurtful ugly mocking behavior no matter how wrong it is. If I cut you will you not bleed and if I cut you enough will you not die and also while you're bleeding and dying will you not feel pain? and while you're bleeding and dying in pain you look up and ask me " why are you doing this awful thing to me I've done you no harm have I?'' I look at you and say "Oh! just get over it why don't you It's a new day you have no reason to question why I cut you." I, know that all the things you stated above still live in the hearts of some people and I know that some people still hold onto the old pains, fears and anger of past injustices but how are we to truly move on and learn to live together as one nation and one people bound together by our common ties if we are still cutting each other to death by the words that come out of our mouths? You spoke of the three civil rights workers who were murdered in Neshoba county MS in June of 1964 ( which is about fifty miles south of where I currently live) please don't think for one moment that the lives of those three young men and their deaths are forgotten. it is because of them and so many others like them that things have changed for the better in this country for black people and white people also. the civil rights act isn't just for black people it's for all people here in this country. Right here in the county that I live in the civil rights act was used to put a stop to reverse decrimination in the voting polls by a black political leader against white voters. I think it was fair and only right that he was punished for his wrong doings; you see he felt that it was alright to do the white voters wrong because of past wrongs done to black voters,( two wrongs do not make a right,) so you see not burying or forgetting the past but remembering what the past was like and the hurts that were done to black people here is what made an eighty percent black populated county stand against this man and let him know that his behavior was unacceptable and that the black community was not going to mistreat the white community because it was done in the past to them, It's not prefect but it's better.BTW I still think you are absolutely adorable.

I would be happy to answer your inquiries but first you have to underline the section(s) of what I wrote that lead you to believe that I said it was okay to mock, belittle, so on & so forth..... not quite seeing where I wrote that. Also, please underline the area(s) in my post that relate to your cutting & bleeding scenario. I have no idea how you came to that example based on anything I said.

have you had a squirter?

Don't know for sure what that means. But......like cookies...lets just say I like'm moist.

You don't know what squirting is? As the name implies, some women, um, squirt when they orgasm.

Apparently it's been popular lately, according to Dr. Drew, haha.

There is no such thing as a "Black College". This school falls under the HBCU category (Historically Black College and University) that were all started at such a time in America when Blacks had no other options for their education. I used to teach at one, and the student population was right about 50/50 (black/non-black) and the faculty was predominantly white or African (not African American, btw). Interestingly enough, the exact same thing happened this year at that school, and MOST of the students who posted on FB regarding this were overwhelmingly in support of the caucasian girl who won the pageant. Sure, there were a disgruntled few, but for the most part the gal was welcomed with open arms.

I do think some of you are, to paraphrase Shakespeare, "protesting a bit too much" over this. And to those who think we live on a level playing field just cause it ain't the fifties any more, I give you exhibit A to the contrary.
