The album ain't that good....

Yes it is.

He has always rocked! See Yngwie's Rising Force ...

He is just THAT good.

What gives with this hero worship for this man?

Danger Danger's 'Revolve' blows this Cd out of the water....and there was no mob scene claiming the sort of weird worship that W.E.T.'s is....weird.

I'll never, ever understand this phenomenon. Cd is average, at BEST.

I don't see the "weird worship" going on.

People dig the CD. That's cool.

I haven't heard the Danger Danger CD.

Pardon my non-quoting response. I STILL haven't figured out how to use the quote feature like JfromB does....

People like it first and foremost because it is JSS. Point blank. If it was ANYONE else singing it would be met with a lukewarm response.

It is not a shit-laced release, like say.....Overland, JJ's 'Crossroad Moments',or David Reese's latest....but it is by no means this epic, classic 5-star release.

And that is because JSS is an OUTSTANDING singer! Not because he has a cool name or because he was in Journey, etc.

Congrats to JSS and W.E.T.!! :D

I like JSS as a singer, but will readily admit that a lot of his projects are a few good songs and a bunch of filler. He's got a great "best of", but very few albums that I would rank highly.

That said, the WET album is a lot better than the samples would suggest. Classic? No. Better than a lot of AOR recently? Yes.

That's true to a point. But for me the vocals are probably 80% of my musical enjoyment, and if I really like the tone/delivery of that voice to start with, then yeah.....and especially if it's got soulful/r&b influenced or grandious type vocals like If I Fall or My Everything then yep I'm all over it (and I haven't even heard the full versions of those yet). Same goes with catchy melodic rock. Also seem to be drawn to songs that are very bluesy/r&b based. Doesn't mean I'm going to rate everything my faves do with high marks though. As far as JSS, I'm not that much into his Yngwie type vocals or Redlist, but love his funky, soulful or hardrock stuff. Same goes for EM, I thought Destroy All Monsters was a clunker but loooove I'm Going Sane.

Of course....it is mainly Eclipse and WOA influenced, but there's at least 3 tunes that would fit a JSS lead Journey.

Which 3?

The topic was Andrew's main forum, not the message board, and you smarted off about it, and didn't even give a reason for why you would say that. It was a cheap shot, plain and simple. It isn't as much what you say as it is the way you present your opinion. If it's in the form of a cheap shot and an eyeroll, with nothing more, then people see that as childish and kind of douchebaggy. Just saying.

This album kicks fuckin ass so far, I'm 5 songs in... and I'm not even a giant JSS fan to be honest. He has some awesome songs but I've found his catalog to be too inconsistent for my tastes. But, this is the kinda stuff he should be doing all the time. Great stuff

Banned for fkin what lady?!?!?! I don't know what the fk you're talking about!! I like JSS quite alot, when he sings >rock<. Don't care for him fronting Journey, don't care for the r&b rap type stuff. Love the new wet material. If you research my posts on JSS, this is the exact type of material I've been looking for from him. Get your shit accurate before you jump on some misinformed "banned" wagon.

Andrew, is this really worth an extended reply? C'mon..it's the off topic forum and I replied "you can't be serious" when someone said "all the professionalism" on this forum. It was not an attack on you personally. Looking over the replies it appears some misinformed users assumed I was talking about "you" and this entire website. Which was simply not the case.
