Yes...I actually did see this. Absolute cheap shot that there is no defense to. The dude on Tampa called for a fair catch and got completely run over while defenseless. The guy who hit him will have a nice fine coming his way along with a suspension and deserves both!

In all honesty, and I know nobody will agree, I think it was an accident...I don't think the tackler knew it was a fair catch and I think he was trying to anticipate/time the catch to his hit...either way, the receiver got his bell rung and it certainly looks (on the surface) like it was intentional...I don't think the receiver would have argued w/ the ref if it was purpose...I also don't think he should have been ejected...sit him down for a while, but no need to eject him...he has no history of malicious hits or late-hit calls...I think it was an accident (the timing of it)...but like I said, nobody is going to agree w/ me.

The guy left his feet, and led with his elbow(to the head).....accident? Not even close. Leaving your feet is also taboo.

On a related note. I'd like to see penalties where the guy doing the deed is out for as long as the injured player is out. If the injured player is hurt so bad he misses a year(see Tom Brady), then the infractor is out for just as long. Fuck monetary punishments! What's 15,000 to a player that makes 8 million?

  Draconian anyone?

There is no way they could ever have a rule even close to this - there is way too much gray area between what's intentional and unintentional as far as brutal hits and hits leading to injuries are concerned. I hope you're being facetious.

I'd want a more results-based punishment system, rather than an intent-based one.....Imagine telling the cop that just stopped you, 'Well...officer, I didn't intend to drive 70 in a 25 MPH zone!'

Dude that messed up Brady's knee did it intentionally, and even IF he didn't...you aren't supposed to go low on a QB. So either way he did something he wasn't supposed to do....and there should be consequences.

Jesus dude...if I believe any of your picks, it's going to be a shitty weekend for watching football with all of these blowouts you're predicting!

I said the exact same thing while looking over the schedule. I was like there could be many blowouts this week, but I hope teams prove me wrong for the sake of good games, but looking at matchups it could be a blowout weekend for the NFL.

Green Bay Vs. Cleveland - The Girl Scouts continue toiling away in shitsville. Packers by 14.

Texans vs SF - I love Matt Schaub's game and love Singletary's ability to rally the troops for a comeback, so I'm really torn on this one. Houston by 10.

***UPSET SPECIAL*** Chargers vs Chiefs - The Chargers are a really bad team (in spite of everyone claiming before the season that this would be their year). They're team who is full of whiny bitches, shitty coaches, and heartless players. Chiefs by 50  My more serious prediction is the Chiefs squeak by with a 1 point win!

Colts vs Rams - This game will be over by halftime and will look just like the Patriots/Titans game last weekend. Colts by 28!

Patriots vs Tampa Bay - The Patriots should win this one easily. The only unknown is just how fucked up travelling to London for an NFL game will be for the players. That's the only possible reason I could come up with that this game would be remotely close. Patriots by 17.

Steelers vs Vikings - Should be the best game of the weekend. I'm an AFC guy so need the Steelers to lose as many games as possible. Minnesota is definitely the better team but dome teams suck in the elements and always have. I say the Steelers win by 3.

Carolina vs Buffalo - Carolina is not a good team but neither are the Bills. Carolina by 7.

Jets vs Oakland - The Jets have lost three straight games and have looked AWFUL doing it. Oakland by 3.

Bears vs Bengals - Bengals continue their slide back to Earth. Bears by 10.

Dallas vs Falcons - If Philips wasn't the coach, I'd be picking Dallas to win this one in a big way. Because Philips is the coach, Dallas pulls out a 3 point win!

Saints vs Miami - Miami goes back to the Indy gameplan to keep the Saints off the field. Their only shot in this game is keeping Brees on the sidelines watching. Saints by 17.

Cardinals vs Giants - Kurt Warner returns to the team that put him out to pasture. These games are always tough to call. I think the Giants are a better team and bounce back to win this one by 10.

Eagles vs. Washington - No flippin' way the Eagles lose to the Redskins after the debacle against Oakland last weekend! Eagles by 21.

Fantasy Tip Of The Week: There is a pretty good chance that Laurence Maroney (from the Patriots) is available in all of the leagues you're in. If he's available, pick the guy up and play him! Only Buffalo has a worse run defense than the Bucs. They give up a whopping 170+ yards per game on the ground (which is fucking ridiculous). They have decent cornerbacks in Rhonde Barber and Aquib Talib, so I don't think Brady is going to light it up half as much as he did last week. The Patriots have some injuries at the RB position so this is definitely the week to get some points out of Maroney!

The majority of both of our picks match up this week, but I must say I'm not diggin' your underdog picks and question most of them but other than that I like the going out on the limb message and going against many favorites. Should be a fun weekend to watch.

Whoever was calling for a blowout sunday, good work. Terrible stuff today by many teams including my Browns. There are way too many horrendously awful teams in the NFL this year. John, once again, has there been this many teams that get blown out week in and week out in the NFL in recent history? I'm not even talking about records so we don't need to get into that. Teams like Browns, Rams, and Chiefs literally come out tehre every week and just get absolutely slaughtered. Even last year when the Browns were horrible we didn't always get beat this bad. We actually hung with some good teams and blew it against others like the Ravens last year...

You could see from the match ups that this was the week for the blowout. Too easy from a fan standpoint. I'll take it.

Defense coming up big for the Steelers. AGAIN fumbling and shooting ourselves in the foot in the redzone.(Also, a TERRIBLE pass interference call on Heath Miller on Holme's TD in the first) Mendenhall needs to learn how to hold onto the goddamn football, no need to jump in the teeth of the defense same thing last week. Other than that, Minnesota really did nothing to impress me, nor did Peterson. Steelers defense finally coming up with HUGE defensive TD's late in the game to actually seal the game. I'm sick that the kick coverage blew two kickoff returns for TD's two games in a row, that's a concern since at the time being, we had the leads. No can do against a good team like Minn and it showed.

I was getting a haircut up in San Francisco earlier this morning. While I was getting my haircut, they had the 49er game on. I hope Texas fucked 'em up big time.

AWESOME STEELERS VIKINGS GAME... Glad to see Brett back to his NORMAL self after 6 weeks of no one paying attention to him.... Steelers had it right, make Brett beat you... and you will win.... GOOD GAME though... tough hard fought game between two GREAT TEAMS.

IF the Packers should WIN next week against the Vikes, puts things back in play for the Packers playoff helps down the road!!

The 9er's QB was sacked twice while I was getting my haircut, which was only in like the first ten/fifteen minutes of the game. That was great. Just looked on line and see Texas won the game. Great. Guess I'll stay out of Frisco for the remainder of the day, there's bound to be problems up there because of the loss....it's a given....especially in Oakland when the Raiders lose.

Minny blew it? What game were you watchin? The Steelers were winning 20-10 at one point and forced two great defensive touchdowns in the process. The Steelers let the Vikes back in the game by fumbling on their 8 yard line, and letting a kickoff run back right after going up 20-10. That game wasn't as close as it should of been. If anything the STEELERS were on pace to blow that game, thus the story of the season thus far. Steelers could be sitting 7-0, but I'll take 5-2 at a much needed BYE!

The Bears are doing their best impression of the Tennessee Titans. Letting wide open receivers all over the field.

This is a clinic so far. The Bears defense is far too depleted to hang with Palmer, Ocho, and Benson when they're hot like they are so far today.

I wouldn't say depleted as far as a talent standpoint, but they are having a mental relapse at this point. Mistakes all over. They are a confused bunch. This is looking to be a blowout early.

Offense looks horrendous as well. The Bears are a few pieces away from being a good team imo... some talent there to be sure, but too many gaps right now.

I'm not interested in what happened in Qs 1-3....or even the first 10 minutes of Q4. When deciding the outcome of a game, you look to the last drive. If minnie scores on that drive - game, set, match to Minnie. Vikings were on the Steelers side of the field, barreling down to a TD score. Taylor takes his eyes off the ball, and it falls in Fox's arms.....not to mention that was horrible playcalling by the O-coordinator for Minnie. Give the ball to AP, and ram it in for the score....they had 2 TOs at that point. Yes, Minnie blew it. Pitt's offense was anemic today.

Wow, this is going from bad to worse for ChiBears. Hester's fumble and Cutler's pick on the last two drives should seal what was one of the worst halves of football I've seen all year long, and considering I've watched the Browns all year, that's saying a LOT

The AFC is owning the NFC this week. NFC powerhouses go down to AFC teams. I know coming into this week the NFC had a slight edge in the head to head matchups. The AFC has finished ahead in the past few years.

Miami is slaughtering New Orleans 24-3 right now! I'm honestly not surprised, because I've said all along that they were one of the most unfortunate teams at the start of this year. That Wildcat is potent.

You're not interested in what happened in the first 3 quarters or in the first 10 minutes of the 4th!?!?! Dude, stop talking for the sake of intelligent people. Obviously you don't know how things are set up when it comes to the game of football. The Steelers led most of the game, and it wasn't for the Steelers shooting themselves in the foot then we would of had an even larger margin than what it was at one point at 20-10. That's the difference between winning and losing.. Taylor didn't make the play and we finally put the exclamation point on a game for the first time this year with 2 AWESOME defensive plays including a goaline stand!

Well, we knew Tenn was a terrible team going into that. Chicago has problems, but they are nowhere near as bad as they are appearing to be today. So in that respect it's a much worse display for me, at least.
