Should Journey bring David Foster in for their next album

I don't get the buzz about Buble but his album is selling like hotcakes and he is a top ten tour machine. Josh Groban is different . He can sing write, play piano and the whole nine yards. I can completely understand why he's popular.

I don't get it either. I've seen him perform on TV and he's nice for what he is, but don't get his massive popularity. Now, Josh Groban blows me away. I own two of his CDS and he's unbelievable.

All I know is Michael Buble and Josh Groban have had great success with the guy.

The guy has worked on some great tunes with great artists. After the love is gone, Love, look what you've done to me, and the list goes on. To be honest, I think his ballads are for the most part head and shoulders above Friga and Perry's.

We'll since Neal said the next album is going to be more of a rocker, I don't see Foster in the mix. In that case they'd better gag Cain too.

Buble is very good, I can definitely hear a little of the "Velvet Fog" in his style. They type of songs he sings are timeless classics written by some of the greatest American songwriters of the 20th century. There aren't too many young comtemporary singers out there that are singingg those songs so he has a market niche. He's just this generation's version of Harry Connick Jr., only I think he has a much better voice. Also, Buble just recently married David Foster's daughter, so you know Foster's going to promote the hell out of him.

Where did you here that? He's done some collaborations with Amy but I don't even think they ever dated. She's also done some writing for Destiny's Child and Andrea Bocelli. I guess talent runs through the blood.

Not true - he is single. If you're referring to the comment made during the recent 'David Foster Hit Man' concert, that was in jest. One of Foster's daughters co-wrote a song with him. But I do agree with the 'he is very good' comment, just not everyone's cup of tea .

Buble's appearance on Oprah aired the same day his album came out two weeks ago. It sold 160k copies in three days. Good publicity for sure.

No way... I can't see Neal wanting anything to do with a producer like Foster. He probably hates half of Cain's ballads, but knows they help sell the albums. Foster works wonders for some, but I don't see Journey being one. When he helped Chicago the band was the same minus Kath and really trying to find themselves after that event, but it hadn't been 20+ years since they were huge. They weren't a nostalgia act like Journey is today for the masses, like it or not. The Grobin and the other person mentioned are in the middle of their current careers, and not trying to reclaim something that was lost due to the usual musical cycle and musical eras. Regardless to who Journey's next producer is, and Shirley is my guess, it will be interesting to see how well it does without Walmart backing and Arnel's YouTube - rags to riches story, as this will be old news and nothing that will get them in the public spotlight.
