Yeah, now the music sounds very lite AOR-ish.

Terry Brock is one of the better singers out there (and an inspired choice), but if that clip is any indication of the album, it's NOT Giant. Doesn't sound one bit like the other albums. Call it a new band or whatever, but don't try and resurrect a band with an album minus the key player AND a totally different sound.

How come you're sure it's Brock?

I'm not sure I would have picked up on it except for the fact that someone on the main noticeboard said it was him. Listen to the high notes in the chorus (if we take it day BY DAY). That tone is unmistakable--and you can't copy that. He's singing a LOT lower than he normally does, and it even threw me. It's Terry Brock.

Could be. Would be him holding back. Still, overall for Giant it's weak.

Could you imagine Winger without Kip Winger ?!?!?!?
How can I imagine Giant withour Dann Huff ?!?!?!?
About the song: It´s very obvious (a simple melodic song) and I did not like the voice of this guy. Ok, it´s a sample of 2 minutes, the album can be different, but in respect of their audience and themselves, the band could have another name !!!!
The guitarist could be John Roth of Winger like some people say, and he is a good player but nowhere near Dann's league.

I have been a fan of the Huff Brothers since their time in Whiteheart....So when I got the first Giant cd I was pretty psyched.
It was good...nothing landmark, but pretty good and it got a lot of listens.
So now, we have a new "Giant"...without Huff....with a teaser photo of their midsections..... WOW....The world is on it's edge for the return of Giant.
A band, with the AWESOME Dann Huff never were a commercial success, are making a comeback without "Huff" ???
Have fun selling under 2,000 cd's in the US....and that's being kind.
Other then diehards, no one is waiting for this nor do they want this.
I don't blame Huff for not wanting to be a part of this.

How do you know? Has he ever really cut loose? I mean Dann is a god on guitar, but Roth has usually been second fiddle and hasn't been able to stretch....
MichaelRiesenbeck wrote:Pelata wrote:I like the clip...sounds promising.
For another band without Giant's legacy it would be a good song, but for Giant it is a weak song, weakly executed and especially a week production.
Where's the guitar fills and layers that Dann layed down?!
I can get used to another guitarist but the vocals are just not on par with the previous singer.
Pelata wrote:I want to address this "heart and soul of Giant" thing about Dann.
Dann was the singer, Dann was the (amazing) lead guitarist, Dann was also NOT the "main" writer in the band...he was one of many CO-writers.
Looking at LoTR, TtB, and III there are lots of names other than Huff...3 have no Huff at all listed as writing....here's the list:
I submit that the music on all 3 Giant albums was written by a combination of NINE different people...doesn't exactly paint Dann Huff as THE mastermind of the Giant sound, does it?
