A cool new project I may be working on. Pay attention DEANO!

Hey everyone,

This is in NO way concrete, but I met a singer/guitarist last night that had one of the best voices I've ever heard live and we may record together. He was playing at the restaurant my wife and I went to for dinner last night. His name is Dirk, and he sounds like a cross between Springsteen and Petty! :D He played a set, then quit for the night. He just played solo with an acoustic guitar, but sounded AMAZING! This guy has PERFECT pitch, and his voice is fantastic!!!

I talked to him for a few minutes after his set, and he seemed interested in collaberating. He's only ever recorded a handfull of songs and is pretty new to the whole recording process. I gave him my myspace page, and he sent me a message tonight saying he'd LOVE to collaberate. He only lives 15 minutes from me, so it would be pretty easy to get together.

His style is VERY different from my "ColdHeart" stuff, but I'm pretty versitile. I think we could write a very cool, laid-back album that would sound great! :D Of course my project would come first, but I definitely have time to jam now and then...
Well enough of my rambling. Go check him out here...

He's not the best musician in the world, so you'll have to cut him some slack on the music and production. Just listen to his voice and let me know what you think!

I liked his voice and the vibe. Although you're right about the music and production it's pretty bad. It's hard to hear him over that awful music. With some quality musicians and production values I'd bet he'd sound great. :D

I agree. He's playing everything you hear there, and he admits to not really being a musician. He did a good job with just the acoustic guitar last night though. I think that I could help a lot in the music dept. I hear a lot of organ, harmonica and piano in his songs. there's a ton of things that could be added and changed completely to make these songs sound awesome! He has a very cool sound. :D

So when can we expect the new Coldheart album to be released. Will you be playing MR-fest this summer?

  I highly doubt it! I'm still not sure what's going to happen with the record labels (we had interest from a couple of labels probably 6 or 8 months ago, and that was just with our OLD songs). If a label get's involved, who knows how long it'll be? We should have the album recorded and mixed by February at the latest. I would like to have it ready by late spring. Right now the only thing we're waiting on is scrounging up enough money to get the drums recorded. Once we get them finished, the rest will be pretty easy.

There you go. Jim should be a guest keyboardist at MR fest. What say you Andrew and Jim?
