Sting: Obama best person to handle world's 'mess'
(AP) – 10-29-09

NEW YORK — Sting isn't a religious man, but he says President Barack Obama might be a divine answer to the world's problems.

In an interview, he jokes that Obama was "sent from God," but in a serious tone, he also said that Obama was the best person to handle the world's "mess."

The English-born Sting says he's fascinated by American politics and those opposed to Obama. He says Obama's opponents are "aggressive and violent and full of fear."

Sting is a very intelligent man, and I agree with him.

violent? }:C\

Definitely. Obama is trying to use intelligence and negotiation to solve problems, whereas Bush promoted bigotry, isolation, and aggression. When Bush gave speeches, he used fear to manipulate the minds of Americans. When Obama gives speeches he uses reason and logic to try to sell his agenda. They are two completely opposite people - one uses the mind to get things done, and the other prefers to use muscle since he wasn't blessed with intelligence.

The last thing we need in the White House is another violent aggressor.

was stings comment towards bush or american citizens not happy with obama? i took it as he was talking about regular folks... not bush.

I think he is referring to the fact that the GOP has been influenced by Bush & Cheney's aggressive, violent, bullyish way of dealing with foreigners for eight long years, and many of them just decided that it was now part of the GOP doctrine. They now see negotiation, communication, and compromise as being weak and wimpy... they would rather just use aggresion against anyone who disagrees with us. That attitude has permeated the minds of a lot of Obama haters.

It's amazing isn't it? It's like the rest of the world is wrong and ONLY the USA is right. These Neo Con clowns say to hell with what the rest of the world thinks. Bush's father was a MUCH better statesman than W could ever dream of being.

i don't like the term "obama haters". you can disagree with someone without hating them.

And the radical left doesn't? By your definition, I could be part of the "radical right" yet I don't see anyone who believes as I do that is calling for fear and aggression for any reason.

Governing by fear is what got Dubbya 'elected' the 2nd time......

Give it a rest. When politicians, and peeps stop looking at everything as an 'Us VS. Them' situation - things will start to get done. Political parties are a thing of the past. Just get shit done. How hard can that be?! fukkers.

my definition of radical in this case should be taken in the context of those using fear and aggression as a means to an end. the left has a radical faction as well. pretty much any extemist nowadays could be called "radical." i don't think you're understanding what i'm saying, maybe i'm not being clear. i don't get the impression that you are radical, but hey, i could be wrong.

I was informed today that my company healthcare deduction would be going up because the Obama plan to insure those without any coverage will be paid for by those with coverage. I am absolutely fucking fuming about this. Total bullshit. By and large, these people are just lazy fucks. I bartended for almost 7 fucking years and paid almost $200 a month for coverage. I took care of myself. Pretty simple fucking concept.

It all stems from the fact that leftists think healthcare is a right, which it obviously isn't if you actually read the constitution.

My health care costs have risen nearly every year for the last 20+ years. Basic health care used to be no charge, but now it's costing me $350 a month. A simple office visit used to be $10, now it's $30. Generic drugs were $5, now they're $20. Name brand used to be $10, now it's $30 or 20%, whichever is higher. All of my deductibles have risen as well.

Democrat lie = The Republicans have no healthcare plan...They just want to oppose the current plan.

Truth...

Republicans want you to be able to purchase plans across state lines.

Republicans want you to be able to own your own policy instead of making it illegal (employers can own the policy current, why not the employee?). This could make your policy portable, a very valuable tool if you lose your job.

Republicans want tort reform to help reduce the amount of unnecessary medical tests/procedures.

Republicans want un-taxed medical savings accounts.

Republicans want to make it easier for individuals and groups to form co-ops to help bring down costs. Business and government currently have the power to do this.

These are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head and this isn't to say that all ideas by Republicans are good. However, the myth that the Republicans have no ideas is just a plain lie.

I'm all for these unfortunate kids getting help. But for them to take my money, their parents can come work for me. I need people to string my guitars and polish them, wax the fretboards, vacuum my apartment, and do my dry cleaning. Spread the wealth? Fine, spread the work ethic.

The House health-care reform plan unveiled last week by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would do more than regulate insurance companies – it would even regulate vending machines.

The bill, which is posted online, would require that vending machine operators either create new machines that allow the customer to view nutrition facts or post nutritional information for each product near “each article of food or the selection button.”

The regulation could wind up costing vendors millions of dollars to make the changes, according to industry estimates.

Section 2572 of the bill (H.R. 3962) says, “In the case of an article of food sold from a vending machine that – (I) does not permit a prospective purchaser to examine the Nutritional Facts Panel before purchasing the article or does not otherwise provide visible nutrition information at the point of purchase; and (II) is operated by a person who is engaged in the business of owning or operating 20 or more vending machines, “the vending machine operator shall provide a sign in close proximity to each article of food or the selection button that includes a clear and conspicuous statement disclosing the number of calories contained in the article.” (See page 1,515 of H.R. 3962 Section 2572 (H) (viii).

While I peronally dont agree with the idea, in a weird way it kinda makes sense,,,, :?

Newt Gingrich (for once) was right. The Obama Administration should have tackled one issue at a time...instead of trying to change the world in one day. Blowhards like Pelosi and Reid also helped to destroy the legislation they so vociferously endorsed by staking out a position to the far left and not compromising. Same old song and dance. Let's sleep like babies while the world burns.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

That's not debateable.

CNN is the only news agency remotely close to being unbiased. Ratings don't mean a thing here. All the ratings mean is Fox has a lot of republicans who follow, while MSNBC has a bunch of republican haters and HLN is for sports fans who watch the scroller/ticker.

CNN IS A TIRED news organization that caters to AFRICA... and every other 3rd world part of the world that we the US, pays billions of dollars to year after year with little or NO RESULTS to show for it... and they love blaming the US military and our govt because of this... the reporting by CNN is dull and aging... and it shows.... FOX caters to whats news worthy during the day... also has great shows in the primetime.
