My wife said "He was almost as popular as Elvis." Yeah, ok.

I'd say at his peak he was but definitely not the last several years! One thing that bugs me is I here his music ALL the time now! I heard PYT on the radio today, and I haven't heard that in YEARS. It's so weird to me that it wasn't okay for them to play his music ever again until he died. Ridiculous and sad really.

I've heard a lot of his music lately too. How you doing Lynnster?

Pretty good Rick! How about you??

I'm here. Bored to death.

Me too!!

Not too much that I can add here except that "This Is It" is one of the coolest, most amazing movies I've ever seen! I just got home from seeing it, and the movie just leaves me without words. Michael was definitely at the top of his game (nowhere NEAR death's door!) and his personality shines throughout. I feel excited, amazed, uplifted, and saddened all at the same time.

I was a HUGE fan as a teenager, and just thought he was the most amazing person on earth. I STILL do. What a terrible loss. :( I honestly believe that if this concert would have ever got off the ground, it would have been the greatest concert the world has ever seen! DAMN talk about some amazing lights, music, dancers and one of the coolest effects and stage shows EVER!

If you haven't seen this... go see it NOW! I think seeing it in the theater made it that much better of an experience, so if you get the chance... don't wait to watch it on dvd. TRUST me. RIP Michael.

I've seen it twice. I might look around to see if any of the IMAX theaters have it around here. Won't be the same on dvd.

argh! i was planning to see it in imax this week, but the bay bridge is still busted! they can't even narrow down the estimated repair time to days or weeks. we've been getting daily updates only on whether it'll be open for the very next commute or not. may have to just plan on driving waaaaaayyyy out of the way to get there. this is one disadvantage to living on the tip of a peninsula in earthquake country.

Ok, all this chatter is pushin' me to see it. Haven't read the whole thread so has anyone seen it in both regular AND iMax?

Is iMax THAT much better? I'm only gonna see it once.

If you're only going once and you have an IMAX nearby, I say just go for it. How can Imax not be better? :D
