If it's gonna be a concept album, then it might take a year to complete. They may record what they have right now, and then play with it for months before redoing some/most of it. And btw, who knows...maybe they'll shelve the concept idea and do a straight forward run-of-the-mill 10-song album before they tour again...maybe they'll do both!? Why sit around on your thumbs? If you've got the time & the cash, record as much as you can.

Ummm....DUH! Neal, Jon and even Kevin Shirley have been quoted that they are going into the studio THIS MONTH and unless a credible source can tell me that those plans have been delayed, then I'll assume they're moving forward with work on a new album.. Lately though, it seems that the few people left on this forum who are supposedly credible sources, don't care to comment on this and it puzzles me. A simple answer would suffice...YES they are in the studio or NO they're not. That's really all I want to know.

So they'll start writing in May/June of 2010. Basically what I was saying - that since they aren't touring in 2010 they won't start recording anytime soon. And apparently that's true. The writing isn't going to start until next summer.
