Befuddled - Journey/Rolling Stone Magazine

Postby hoagiepete » Tue Nov 10, 2009 1:58 am

Just received an email from the Journey site promoting Holiday sales.

What I can't understand is, they are offering a free 1 year subscription to the magazine that has done nothing but bash them for over 30 years. Why on earth are they promoting this rag? :o :? :?

Journey Holiday Promotions

Avoid the crowds during this holiday season and visit the Journey store for all your shopping needs. Take advantage of these great promotions and save up to 60% on items in the Holiday Sale Department.
• Spend $15 or more and get a 1-year subscription to Rolling Stone magazine (a $12.97 value), at no additional charge. If you already subscribed to Rolling Stone, your subscription will be extended by one year.

It's called whoring yourself out for any form of promotion/profit that you can.

Well for some reason I always end up with a RS subscription for buying Journey tickets on Ticketmaster, but that might be more TM's thing than Journey's.

I guess they figure any press is good press? lol
