How and WHO do you think pays for the welfare system in this country ??

No, but I'm suggesting that they are out of control. I know how welfare is funded and the point is, welfare was not what taxes were EVER intended for, let alone to the extent we're getting to in this country.

Pretty soon entitlements are going to be so rampant that there won't be a reason to work for most people even if they CAN find a job! That already is the case for many... and it's a big part of the problem.

Psst. This is what the head libs want. O said it himself, it's redistribution of wealth. The more people reliant on Gov (read Dem) policies/money, the more votes for Dem politicians. This is nothing but a power grab folks, a way to try and lock in Dem majority power in this Country.

It's sad to me really. It was the Republicans of long times past, who against the wishes of Dems, freed the African-Americans from their plantations. Now the Democrats have basically re-enslaved them again in our inner cities, and the FedGov serves as the new plantation taking care of them. That may come off as uncool to say out loud, but there, I said it.

FF, do you ever have an original thought?

Ok, don't try the logic/semantic game with me....perhaps you haven't....but you've read it elsewhere.

A little original thought would be nice in this thread....this C&P stuff must stop.....and the blatant plagiarism must as well.

What are you talking about. Have at all the original thoughts you want. The C&P stuff is the daily News. I don't write it, just like I didn't write the Joe Perry Las Vegas Sun Article Andrew has on his front page and has it's own thread on this board.. News is news. Again with the kill the messsenger stuff. As to the plagerism, I don't know what to tell you. I almost always source every article I post with the link unless I forget.

The typical NFL/MLB player at a $4,000,000 salary is going to get socked with an additional $216,000 tax on top of the 50% or plus tax rate they are already paying.

Thank you OchoCinco for my healthcare.

So you can fucking justify BILLIONS OF DOLLARS being spent on Iraqi people , but when it comes to your own landsmen , then it's about DEADBEATS ?!
why don't you for once use your brain and realize that there are those that work 40 hours a week but simply can't afford health insurance cause they'd have to give up half their paycheck to get a half ass coverage that still will rip them off as soon as they have one fucking surgery.

The health care system in this country sucks. And if we have to go by your suggestions , we'd just have to deal with it and pass it on to the next generation.

Nothing wrong with fresh ideas to put an end to this mess. You just have to deal with it. Your W sure did make sure our tax money is spent wisely on Operation Freedom Iraq

Whitehouse quoted Clinton arguing: "The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning."

You can end a war. You can't turn this back once/if it's passed.

There is NO going back once we do this. Whatever you feel about the current system, there is no way you can think a government run system isn't going to have SERIOUS problems. And you can't reason with or fight the government for things you don't like as you could with an insurance company.

quit talkin out of your ass..... no one is taking your choices away.,,,,, no one said you wont have access to private treatment where you pay big $ , like you have to do now,,,,,,The goverment funded and controlled health care has had success in many european countries..... I grew up in Sweden where you paid 33% tax, but health care was free...... sure you have some waiting times, but you do here too , even with full insurance and outrageous medical bills that have made many successful people go bankrupt over major surgery.....

There is a need of control over the insurance and healthcare scam , where they can charge $2000 for an xray, where 90% of it is pure profit.... Yes the machine costs $1M, but they have it paid off in less than a year and after that it becomes a real profit center.... Sad that the damn xray machine makes more money than the guy who reads your xray or even the physician ......Same xray would cost you a $20 copay in sweden, without even having to pay for any insurance......

Behshad if you trust the government to control anything for YOUR benefit, I don't know what to tell you. You can't sue them for care, you can't negotiate with them etc. If you think the insurance companies are draconian, wait until King Obama and his court of Snake eyes Botox Pelosi and Q-Tip Harry Reid preside over your health care claims. Just wait.

I hope we get this reform just to punish people, just like I hope Obama gets 8 years to punish people. I really truly do. Fuck it, I'm voting Democrat for the next 4 years

Go check with the elderly who are dealing with a goverment controlled Social Security check and you will be amazed how pleased they are with the fact that its run smoothly and they get their check right on time everytime,,,,,
this whole goverment bashing thing is going way overboard,,,,, If youre questioning the goverment, then we might as well just have someone like Saddam, where one power is above everything else, and we follow his rules only.,....
Goverment controlled healthcare, means PAPERWORK, yes,,,, but right now, even with insurance companies in charge, there is still paperwork involved....anytime I have been in the emergency room, I have HAD TO fill out all kinda forms, before anyone would even attend to me,,, one time with a bleeding finger, where it was getting all over the fuckin paperwork, but they still told me "try to fill it out as much as you can" !

Healthcare will never be FREE in this country,,, but its about time that we put an end to WAY overpriced procedures ,,,,,

The government is not for the people any more. Hasn't been for years. Are you at all aware of what's going in Cuyahoga County? Massive corruption at every level of government, including law enforcement and the judiciary. Just Google Jimmy Dimora Frank Russo if you haven't heard.

As for admonishing me for questioning the government, are you serious man? We are MEANT to question the government. That is how this whole experiment got started. Sadly, I fear that experiment is about to come to an end, but that's another story for another day... More importantly, it is our RIGHT to question the government. I don't need some jackass political science major from Harvard telling me what's good for me and what's not good for me, whether it be how I obtain health care, what car I drive, what windows I own, what kind of food to eat, and whatever other bullshit they have tried to propose. They aren't right just because they bought an expensive degree.

Costs need to be controlled, that's about the only thing I'll agree with you on. But, the way the liberals look at is totally narrow-sighted and disingenuous. We need to help people live healthier lifestyles, we need to stop illegals from siphoning money from our health care coffers, we need to make it easier for companies to pay their employees tax-free flexible spending to purchase plans, we need to make Medicare and Medicaid at least semi-efficient in stopping fraud which siphons BILLIONS from the system every year, and we need to stop making people think they're entitled to a free lunch.

Questioning the goverment is YOUR RIGHT, bashing it for trying to think out of the box for once, is your opinion. :)

The day you can actually manage to live your life without the goverment, politicians and the corruption affecting your life, let me know, so I can move there too

I think the goverment is for once taking the right step trying to fix this mess that we know as health care...... You have every right to be worried about it,,,,,, but you also need to realize, we cant just sit and do nothing about it,,,,, thoese veterans and heros we so proudly celebrate and honor today, didnt sit down and think "what if it doesnt work",,,,"what if it doesnt turn out better"..... they took a chance,,, they showed that action speaks more than talks....

We have to do something about it, cause the way the system is right now isnt working.

Obama to give interview on Fox News, while in China next week... from Drudgereport. I thought Fox News wasnt a NEWS organization...(according to Obama adminstration) Wait maybe the 4,000,000 viewers fox news gets is making them change their minds over at Obama camp... if he did the interview at cnn... less than 1,000,000 viewers would watch... hehe..

B, hospitals can charge whatever they want to charge for services. The key is that insurance companies are able to decide what they will pay for them if there is a contract between the two. That $2000 x-ray (which I highly doubt, but may be a CT or MRI or some kind of nuclear test) probably only really gets paid a few hundred bucks for. Now, for those that don't have insurance for whatever reason will have a problem, because they can pretty much be charged whatever the hospital wants to charge for it. I understand (read somewhere) that those fees can actually be negotiated, although I've never tried it nor do I know of anyone who has tried it.

I clearly agree that some manner of reform is in order, but I once again reiterate that this is not the answer. We are gonna be up shit creek without a paddle in a few years, and those tests and procedures that we are griping about now may very likely be unavailable to us at all in the near future. It's a scary time for this country.

Lou Dobbs leaving CNN

NEW YORK — Longtime CNN host Lou Dobbs shocked his viewers Wednesday by announcing that he would be leaving the network effective immediately.

The daily host of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" addressed his viewers after giving the day's headlines and told them Wednesday's show would be his final time in the anchor chair.
"This will be my last broadcast," he said.
He said CNN had allowed him to be released from his contract early and that he was considering a number of options for the next stage in his career.
"I will let you know when I set my course," he said. He said he wanted to "contribute positively to a better understanding of the great issues of our day."

Since getting a radio show, Lou hasn't been the same.
The right wing AM radio pandering (talk about Obama's birth certificate etc) started to bleed into the CNN show.

Tough spot for CNN.
Aside from Larry King, he was the only name brand on their talent roster.
A wise move would have been to move Lou up to 8pm to compete with O'Reilly and Olbermann.

They're downplaying it now, but that was the rumor for awhile.
If he ends up anywhere, my guess is Fox Business Channel.
They're struggling against CNBC, luring Dobbs over would be a big score.

this explains it all!

Luis Miguel Salvador Aguila Dominguez, alias "Lou Dobbs," is escorted by DHS agents to the airport to be sent back to Mexico.

WANTAGE, NJ—Acting on anonymous tips from within the Hispanic-American community, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials on Wednesday deported Luis Miguel Salvador Aguila Dominguez, who has been living illegally in the United States under the name Lou Dobbs for 48 years.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, federal agents stormed the undocumented immigrant’s home in an evening raid just hours after the 64-year-old newscaster suddenly announced that he was resigning from CNN, and immediately placed him on an Aeromexico flight departing from Newark Liberty Airport.
The Onion will continue to report on this exciting news.
