I can't even believe this - how loud could they have been? I'm in the hotel business and I have never once heard people having sex! Either they're quiet or they're not doing it! And my office shares a wall with a guest room! Nor have I ever once heard it while staying at a hotel... never heard it in an apartment building or coming from a home... nothing.
I had a couple living below me when I lived in my apartment in my early 20's. They were new at the time, nice apartments, built well but I could hear them having sex every time. Especially on the weekends. I pretty much would just stick earplugs in and put my alarm volume up. Only bothered me when I was awoken by it and I had to go to work in the morning but what do you say to a neighbor? Besides she looked like she could beat the crap out of me so I wouldnt' have dared

My 1st apartment was an old building and I could hear everything from the downstairs neighbor. Well, after I'd been there for almost 2 years, she calls one day and leaves a message complaining that she can hear my alarm clock and it wakes her up the morning. (Her bedroom was right under mine) This is two years in, mind you, and it was the SAME alarm clock at the same volume (not excessively loud). I figure that it was only because she became unemployed because when she had a job, I never heard a word about my alarm being too loud.
Point being if she could hear my alarm clock, what all else could she hear?!
