LOL, hey now that Burrn cover is nice. And well, that top pic of
hunk of the month is just plain funny, no? These guys probably cringe when they look back at some of their 80s glam shots.

Probably so, and I know you all get my shtick with some of these bands. But just in case, for the uninitiated -- there's something in common between Dokken, Winger, and Europe to me. All three bands had world-class talent and wrote incredible music but got unfairly lumped into the 80's Hairband cliche, never really getting the credit they deserved. And each band has written some of their most mature and strongest material since being out of the spotlight and away from heavy-handed label influences. So I talk about them because their music deserves recognition, and toss up the old photos for a laugh and also to irritate those people who would never give them a chance no matter how good the music was.
Speaking of mature songwriting, the first Winger track "Deal With The Devil" has some truly thought-provoking (and Motley) lyrics -- "Bottles of booze, and girls with tatoos, I made a deal with the devil!"
I just ran across this article from May 2009:
Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has revealed that 80s "Hair Metal" singer Kip Winger from the band Winger will be featured in a starring role in the upcoming, as-yet-unnamed "prequel" to his smash hit film "Pulp Fiction." Winger will reprise the role made famous in the original film by John Travolta, "Vinnie Vega."
When asked about the role, Winger enthusiastically replied "I 'm looking forward to reconnecting with my fans in a big way. Even though I'm in the movie, I'm a fan of Quentin just like everyone else. I'm not at liberty to discuss the script but I can tell you that people who enjoyed the first film don't know the whole story...but they will."
Filming is scheduled to begin in late August.
