" Waaaaaahhhhhh...I don't want to play in San Diego......Waaaahhhhhh. I'm playing in my brother's shadow. Waaaaahhhhhhh."

Which two are you talking about??? Last I checked, the Colts haven't been in Baltimore since the early eighties. The last guy I remember whining like a little bitch about playing in San Diego was Eli Manning.

Correct, and Eli wasn't the first bitch to ever refuse to play for the team that drafted him....Captain Comeback was drafted by Colts in '83....

Ricky Williams comes to mind here. I remember him dropping his head in disgust when the Saints drafted him. I never could stand that idiot.

I remember laughing hysterically when S.D still took him with their first pick. The look on Eli's face when he was holding up that jersey made me sick to my stomach and I'll always have an ill feeling towards that sourpuss because of it.

Indianpolis Star Columnist Says "Tom Brady Is Better Than Manning". This should endear this guy to the Indy faithful

Bob Kravitz on D&C: Brady's better
By: Jerry Spar
Indianapolis Star columnist Bob Kravitz appeared on the Dennis & Callahan show Thursday morning to talk about Sunday's Patriots-Colts game.

Kravitz picked the Patriots to win the game, and he said he gives the nod to Tom Brady in a career comparison to Peyton Manning.

"I've always picked Brady. I have this argument all the time. ... The stats are virtually the same over the years. I think Tom has done more with less, with fewer offensive weapons, and it's hard to ignore three Super Bowls."

Kravitz also had a different spin on the Manning-Brady rivalry: "I think in reality it's more of Peyton vs. Belichick."

Kravitz also discussed Jim Caldwell, who is in his first year as Colts coach after being promoted from assisting Tony Dungy.

"I think right now that he is doing a better job than Tony Dungy has ever done," Kravitz said. "If you look at the two areas where the Colts have improved the most, special teams and defense, those are the two areas where Caldwell came in and said, 'Look, we've got to make changes in our coaching staff.' ... Even though [Dungy and Caldwell] are very similar as far as the way they operate and the way they do things ... he has put his stamp on the organization. I'm very impressed."

Sounds like an astute guy to me, as far as his point about Brady accomplishing a whole lot more with FAR less talent around him. I've been saying the same thing for years. There isn't a single QB in the history of the league who has won with shittier offensive players around him!

No argument from me at all. Probably the worst offensive team in the history of the NFL to win one Super Bowl. The difference is that Ravens team was one of the best defenses, EVER and none of those Patriots teams who won had a defense half that dominant! Also, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Brady did it three times with some of the worse receivers ever!

Nobody will ever convince me there was a better running back than Sanders. Nothing pissed me off more than the douchebag Cowboys fans saying Emmitt Smith was the better back. Emmitt couldn't carry Barry's jock, on his best day! Smith was a good player, but unlike Sanders, Emmitt played on STACKED teams. Fuck, I could have run behind those lines. It also pissed me off that many Detroit fans were very critical of Sanders for retiring. I alway repsected the hell out of Sanders for simply walking away on top and never looking back, unlike douchebag Favre!

I'm a Cowboys fan, as you know, and I agree, Sanders was a much better back. Had he been with the Cowboys in the same time period, holy hell only knows what he would have done. Smith was a good running back, but he didn't have the instincts that Sanders had, and Sanders never just fell the fuck down when he encountered a defensive player like Smith did, later on.

With that said, I've met Emmitt on a few occasions, and he was a genuinely nice guy to his fans.

I have always and will always respect Emmitt as a player. I just never thought he was even half as good as some thought he was. I can tell you that he's not even in the top 10 best running backs that I've seen just in the years I've been watching the NFL. Hell, I think a guy like Chris Johnson (Titans) has far more skill than I ever saw out of Emmitt. Smith wouldn't have survived 3 years in the NFL without the offensive line he had (which was one of the best ever)!

Chicago's receivers are AWFUL, but that doesn't excuse this dude throwing 5 picks. That simply can't ever happen. The season Brady threw 50 TD's, he had 8 picks for the entire season. Throwing interceptions is a guaranteed recipe for disaster in the NFL!

Dirtiest player in the NFL

Posted by cludwig November 12th, 2009, 4:04 pm

I’ve been saying it for years.

Shouting it, actually.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is the dirtiest player in the NFL.

Now, finally, NFL players agree.

In a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players from New York state to the Golden Gate, Ward has been tagged, awarded and honored with that dubious distinction.

And deservedly so.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/football/nfl/11/04/dirty/index.html

Ward takes guys out with blind-side cheap shots, and the grin never seems to leave his face.

Ward took delight when he jacked up Cincinnati Bengals outside linebacker Keith Rivers a year ago, breaking Rivers’ jaw on a block that was late, unnecessary and uncalled for.

Here’s the sad part: There isn’t an NFL player, coach, GM or owner who wouldn’t want Ward on his or her team.

There’s only one problem with SI’s poll.

I don’t see any mention of Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson.

How is that possible?

Henderson only tried to rip the eyes out of Andrew Whitworth’s head last season.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R34w3CmD ... r_embedded

If you call those shots dirty then I give up on the game of football. Textbook blocks. This is what you're taught, I don't get it. Ward's hit on Rivers was the staple for football since its heyday. That shot on Reed was perfectly beautiful. I don't expect those who never played the game understand how awesome that layout was on Ed Reed, one of the most fierce safeties in the league who took honor of decapitating receivers across the middle, over the top, or underneath.

Ward never goes low, after knees, or hits you from the back. These guys he's hitting, are from inside the shoulder, or frontal view, which is legal in football. These defensive players are running full speed at trying to do the same to his teammates running with the football. How ironic is it that Ward's been labeled the dirtiest player in the league, but the man who wrote this article then screams that John Henderson, who ripped someones eyes out, didn't make the cut. Anyone see that piece of shit Chicago player wind up and take a swing at Shaun Green last week? That's not dirty at all.

If you're going to call those dirty. Is this dirty? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUGlw9s9xIY (I say no. But it sure was helmet to helmet, which should be a 15 yard penalty in the league.) But according to these pussies around the league. Yes. Ward always said. Hey, don't think for one second that a defender is going to hold back at lighting you up and try to obliterate you whenever you go across the middle and injure you any chance he gets. I simply hit them, before they hit me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUGlw9s9xIY

Jim Rome's take on Ward. Someone who understands Football 101.

I've felt this way about Cutler since day one. I initially thought he was going to pan out and be a pretty damn good quarterback over the years, but lately, other than a rocket arm, he hasn't shown me squat of handling Quarterback duties long term. The dude is a crybaby, immature, a horrible teammate, and most importantly, a terrible leader. He thinks he can waltz into any stadium and throw any ball he wants on every given spot. This works maybe 40% of the time, but the problem is he's throwing the wrong ball in a tight spot to begin with. He's a terrible decision maker and has amounted to nothing so far. He has the credentials, and is lucky he has a rocket, or else he'd be riding the pine year in and year out.

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Brady played with far less talented receivers than Manning. But let's not lose sight of the fact that these guys are all professionals, and the guys Brady has played with, guys like David Patten, Troy Brown, Deion Branch, and David Givens were a special part in running New England's offense. Yes, these guys are not Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Jerry Rice, or Tim Brown but they sure as hell didn't make life hell for Tom Brady like some might think. Same goes for a player like Kevin Faulk. The dude is not going to rush for 3,000 yards a season, but he's a player that will help a team win and he is a major asset to the team and plays with the grit most teams would love to have. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl, and he wasn't even that great of a player to begin with and his receivers were Brandon Stokley, Billy Davis, and Travis Taylor. Hardly Hall of Fame candidates aside from a great player in Stokley in his prime.

The games I've watched, these guys outperformed anyone in the league and were getting open, running free and running the Patriots offense quite well. Things Wayne and Harrison were doing in Indy. It's not like these guys played like living hell and Brady had to do everything in his power to win football games without them. The point is, New England is one of the best teams in the league at plugging players into their system and these players simply play well as a New England Patriot. The Pats are just that good of a team with that good of a coach. Hell, Brady might have won the SB with less talent, but he had one of the best overall deep threats in all of football and still lost a Super Bowl with him. I don't buy into that for one second. Even though it is true, it has nothing to do with who's better of a quarterback at the end of the day. The guys simply got it done and were tough to stop.

I just watched highlights of Cutler's sorry performance last night against the Niners. Hard to believe the Bears were once upon a time sitting 3-1 in prime position to lead their division throughout the year. This just goes to show how easily a team can fall to the depths of the basement in a mere time of 4-5 weeks. Unbelievable how bad Cutler is playing this season (even though his only go-to guy, specialist Devin Hester isn't helping him out) when they were picked to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl preseason.

Dude...Trent Dilfer didn't win anything. He was along for the ride! As I've already said in this thread, that Ravens defense was as dominant as the 1985 Bears. Not one of the Patriots championship teams were even a quarter as good as that VERY dominant Ravens team. The receivers (and every other offensive player on that team) were beyond irrelevant. Giving Dilfer credit for that Super Bowl win is like giving Ross Valory credit for the success of Journey!

Dilfer only did what was asked from him. He did nothing to sabotage his team, and sometimes it's harder to do that in the back of an NFL QB's mind. It's not like he went out there, spiked the ball 3 times, punted and wactched the Ravens defense for 60 min. The man still had to go out there, run the offense, run the clock, call the plays, complete 3rd downs and keep the chains moving. Dilfer didn't even start the season that season for Baltimore, Tony Banks did. It wasn't until Dilfer came in the 3rd game of the season to give B-more steady QB play on their way to a Wild Card finish. As dominant as the Ravens defense was (mentioned in the best ever) they only posted to get in via Wild Card. Say what you want about Dilfer, but his pass to Stokley in the Super Bowl set the stage of that football game. I remember him completing a big 3rd down pass before halftime. The Ravens went onto route of course. To prove that Dilfer at least deserves SOME credit, he was released after that season in favor of Elvis Grbac, who had over 5 points lower of a QB/passer rating than Dilfer had in the '00 season. Football is the ultimate team sport, and Dilfer, even though he would be the LAST person on the Ravens team to mention, should be given credit for being a Super Bowl winning Quarterback, at least give the man 1% of credit.
