Ok I was wrong in the soccer thread. THAT is the funniest sentence ever. The words "Ford" and "quality" should only hang out if the word "shitty" is invited to the party to stand in between them.

Buy American is a hilarious catch phrase that isn't at all true.

Did you know that its american engineers , american workers and american parts that build these cars???
Last year people were saying " let the Big 3 go down, we dont need them,we can always buy our nissan and toyotas and hondas"......
well guess what,, the car industry is tha backbone of this countries economy.... you think if the american car industry would go under, it would only affect those who work for Ford, GM and Chrysler??? Wrong,,, it would result in a chain reaction, closing down 1000s of factories of suppliers, and millions of jobs lost....... THEN , with us DEPENDING on FOREIGN CARS, youd be amaze how much theyd jack up their prices.... You think the oil countries are raping us now, wait till we have to depend on Japan for cars,,,,,

No, trust me, I understand how important the car industry is to our economy. Think about the way all walks of commerce would be affected... even the sports/entertainment industries would be severely adversely effected.
But, those shit companies weren't competing. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and are making better cars now. As for me, $14-18 grand is a lot of money for me to personally find out whether or not they have learned their lesson.
And like I said, companies like Toyota and Nissan are just as essential to a healthy economy here in America as GM and all them fuckers are.

Nah, Ford is actually by far the best American car out there. They don't make a half-bad vehicle. I still wouldn't buy one, but you aren't buying a foregone disaster as you are when you buy some of the other brands.

Absolutely, The existence of Toyota and other foreign car makers are essential in this country. Thats what has pushed Ford to be more competitive and work hard on QUALITY...... something they didnt do 10 years ago.

If that's the case, then things have changed drastically from all of my experiences with Ford.

The last car I bought was an '02, so no, I fully admit I don't know what Ford has been up to in the last 5 years. And I don't really care. I have other brands I'd prefer to consider that have a longer reputation of quality than 5 years.

And that's a totally fair position to have. I stopped buying PCs 5 years ago. I'm not about to go out and buy a top of the line PC just because every one tells me Windows 7 is so much better and more stable now.
