Fun YouTube moments with Journey...

Postby fredinator » Sun Nov 15, 2009 4:50 pm

Not to beat a dead horse to death, but I remember some really fun and crazy moments caught on video with Journey:

This is "Girl Can't Help It" where the bottle was thrown at Neal and Steve and they had a really nice moment together right after it--the bottle shows up at 1:34:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiUcRTqrLJM

Here's ANOTHER version of "Girl Can't Help It" where they didn't film the bottle but they did show Neal ducking a pair of girl's panties (I think that's what it is, lol) and strangely on this version of the song the panties show up at 1:34:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoD-ex6LMwA

Dean appears in the video for "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever" but I've never figured out where he is in it; maybe somebody else or Dean will say...

Anyway, if you all remember any I would enjoy watching them...

Sometimes these videos depress the hell out of me. Why can't these guys suck it up and do just 1 final tour together?

That's what sucks when you get lawyers involved. People can no longer just talk.

I know but I really think deep down inside they wish they could put aside differences and do it again though. Especially after Neal was so excited to see Steve at the HOF.

Man, I wish they'd release that ROR tour footage. Not the best Journey tour ever (who's idea was it to replace Steve Smith with the most generic studio drummer ever? Oh wait...) but would still be fun to see on DVD.

This is another one I just remembered; Perry gets upset when Neal gets hit on the head with a bottle--doesn't seem to bother Neal too much though, lol:

Seems like there was a better video of this showing the blood on Neal's face :) .

The whole Frontiers and Beyond is posted. Part 3 starting at about 5:25 has the whole thing. Always loved this video.

I would love to have something official from ROR......don't think we will ever see it!

I think that ROR tour footage is the holy grail of journey media. I don't know that we'll ever see it either.
"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010

Only from a collector's standpoint, and even that's by default. From a quality standpoint I don't think there's much demand to see Steve Perry singing half the songs in warp speed 3 sheets to the wind. He was pretty incredible on the ROR stuff, but the rest was often a guy struggling to make it in the original key at the expense of musical integrity.

Many fans would enjoy it still, but I doubt Perry is pleased with the ROR tour as his best work b/c of your points and wouldn't allow it be released if he had a say, since he's a perfectionist.

A complete DVD of the Tokyo show during the Frontiers tour would be great. I've got the edited one but the complete one with Frontiers, Lies, and Don't Fight It would be great.
