When Augeri became "sick", why wasn't KC the one that saved the day as opposed to JSS? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Kevin was asked, but wanted a week or two to get his voice in shape for the tour. JRNY wanted him then, so when Kevin said 2 weeks, they brought in Jeff.

I assume he's questioning you saying that The Storm was better than Bryan Adams. And it's Bryan Adams, not Brain. Brain Adams, that's a good one. Sounds like he could be a sidekick to the Hardy Boys.

I know he was questioning the The Storm being better than BA. :D IMO it was better. We didn't even stay for the BA encore.

I thought the same thing too. Can't blame him wanting to sound his best, being compared to Perry and all. But that is what was posted here by JSS? or Jeremey? or someone along that line.

Are you all talking about the time between Augeri and JSS or the time between JSS and Pineda? If I remember correctly, Augeri was out one night and within a day or two JSS was en route to the next Journey show. The Chalfant rumor here that I remember was something about him coming in for the Virginia gig that was JSS' last gig but he said he wasn't ready. Kevin has denied this, and I find it hard to believe as well.

Your memory is spot-on - Augeri's last show was July 4, 2006, and JSS' first with the band was the tour's next show, which was July 7.

When he dual headlined with the Lips a few years back, he closed the show I went too (HOOOH) and finished with 3 ballads...2/3 I wasn't that familiar with, so I can only imagine why the place was 75% empty by the time he finished. Not impressed.

BA was good when I saw him with Leppard. Not as "big" of a sound as I hoped, the guitars were weak compared to the album, but his setlist did have pacing issues as you say. That was my biggest gripe. His DVD at Slaine Castle is REALLY good

Kevin doing Seperate Ways live. Pretty good. Could still front the band. More power to his voice than AP

AP sounds pretty good! One of the better audio on Utube in a while. AP is higher, but KC voice seems to have more expression without pushing the limits. That is something AP is going to have to watch for. He will suffer the faith of Augeri and Perry.

He's also very nice in person. I know a couple of people who met him in the late 80s/very early 90s at the height of his career and were so surprised at what a regular guy he was, no rock star attitude at all. One was serving him at a club in Vancouver and at first didn't realize that the friendly guy he was talking with was Bryan Adams!

I spoke with Kevin regarding his place in Journey by all accounts he was as good as in but then out of nowhere Perry appeared and he was back for Trail By Fire,at one point it also looked like Rolie was in...basically the Storm minus Josh(thank god) and Neal reforming Journey, but that all changed very quickly.
Kevin was also up for a tour to help when Augeri went sick but that did not happen.
It seems there could have been many version of Journey,in fact does anyone remember the Neal leaving Journey rumour prior to Jeff joining.By all accounts Neal threatened to leave unless Augeri was let go as he was concerned over Journey's reputation regarding lipping so they foreced him to go live and in came Jeff.By all accounts Neal was to form another version of Journey with Rolie Perry Smith and a new bass player if he did not get his way!!! makes you wonder

That's quite an exclusive, Bionic.
Was this the same tour that Jeff filled in for, or earlier?

That seems absolutely ridiculous. Whose accounts are these? Perry was magically going to return to form a band with three of his ex-Journey mates in 2005 or 2006 if Augeri wasn't fired from Journey? If this is true, it would seem like Cain is who is keeping Perry from returning in 2009, which I don't buy. There's enough blame on all of the big three to go around.

Wow, totally acoustic BA is gonna be boring beyond belief. I'm sorry to hear that. I'd rather watch a concert DVD. A few songs would be ok, but when you say solo does that mean Keith isn't even with him? Songs like Back to You work unplugged if the slide guitar's at least there in the BG...
