Chickenfoot? Kerplunk--my heart just landed in my feet, lol...

Would Gregg be considered a "pioneer?"

Hmm...perhaps a new collaboration between JSS and Brian May?

I'm more curious as to what "classic album" he's remixing.

I was hoping that this involved Neal's new band... I hadn't thought of all these other ideas, lol. It'll be interesting to see what he's doing.

Well, the site is "unavailable" right now...
Why does that happen so often when this site
gets wind of things and starts the gossip train?

Anyone care to share what he posted?

I was gonna paraphrase it, but it's back online.

http://www.cavemanproductions.com/cavediary.htm

In case his site goes dark again, here it is:

"January I'm producing what has the promise to be one of the most exciting "supergroups" to come around in a long time.
But theory is just that until we see how the dynamics play out in the studio between these superb musicians.
And of course, the songs will make the real difference."

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Schon was involved in this.
And maybe that's what his 'writing mode' is all about.

I'm not gonna blame Soto for that at all. It was just a clusterfuck of shitty music with absolutely zero chemistry. This is what people fail to realize...you can have the greatest musician in the world at each instrument, but if you don't have chemistry you don't have shit. And Soul Sirkus didn't have shit...they were shit. And it wouldn't have mattered who was singing.

Besides all that...I think the def of a supergroup is that every single member is a already a superstar in their own right. Soto never has fit that criteria. Maybe Schon was the only real superstar there. Point being, if SS would truly have been a supergroup, then they'd have been a lot bigger that they were. (Of course, that wouldn't have taken much, no?)

I don't hear it, man.
I think its some of Neal's best stuff since HSAS.
There's more hooks on SS than Generations.
I wish Chickenfoot was even half as good.

I'm completely unimpressed with them. They're like a bar jam band with no hooks or catchy melodies.

Yup.
Really shocked by how lackluster it is.
Maybe one or two good songs.
Only Satriani shines, if Neal had been there it would've been a classic.

I've been tempted to pick it up a couple times, especially when it was marked down but I haven't pulled the trigger because the stuff I've heard has been completely unimpressive. I'm sure I'd still love them live, but what a disappointment... I'm a gigantic fan of Hagar and a huge fan of Satch's guitar playing and it just doesn't seem to be happening.

Jam bar band with no hooks is a very apt description.

Soul Sirkus, outside of a few songs (namely, Coming Home and New Position) didn't do much for me either.

I had no complaints with the music - it rocks. The lyrics, however, were ridiculous. That falls on Sammy, IMO.

Yet its alot of marketing push and promotion...'Oh Yeah' on the Tonight show when it first came out....what a piss poor excuse for a song....sounds like something you'd hear in the background of a cheesy 80's horror flick right before two teenagers bang....wait a minute, maybe that's exactly what they were going for.

I liked Chickenfoot for the most part, and compared to Hagar's Universe cd, Chickenfoot was a work of art. But I really have never been of Joe's. Have a few of cds, which have only listened to 1 or 2 times. Hopefully the next CF cd will be better. This cd seemed rushed at times.

But it is true.

Then again I don't need a "hook" in every song for me to like it.
