I guess it makes sense to team up with other bands to fill up the big shows, and Styx and Kansas are okay (even though they just have a few good songs), but the thought of Lukather and Neal on the same stage, with Paich, Phillips and Porcaro with Arnel/Kimball. They would be like the damn kryptonite all stars of musicianship.

And I could finally see how the Journey songs are played with expert musicians (Mike Porcaro on bass and Simon Phillips on drums.)

Deen could do some back up singing, while Ross could sell t-shirts or something. Or make coffee for the rest of the guys.

TOTO/ JOURNEY WOULD BE GREAT TOO!!

that would have been a good show, and judging by the Virginia Beach show Toto did a few years ago, they would have given Journey a run for their money. Live, they put on a pretty impressive rock show. Too bad they broke up.

I've seen Toto several times, and they always deliver. Toto is far ahead of Journey when it comes to pure musiciansship - but still, there's something about the magic the J-boyz created. :)

Now you're just making things up.

Oh, do tell.

I'm running out of time.

...then just skip the opening bands.

You complain about maybe having to miss a Journey tour because you don't like the bands they might be touring with?

Just not what I chose to spend my money on. It would be a disappointing lineup more than anything. I don't expect or care if anyone doesn't understand or agree.

I certainly do...

As long as Arnel is fronting Journey, I will go and see them, with or without opening act/co-headliner.

This is the first I've heard of Journey touring at all next year.

The rumor I've heard is "STYX / FOREIGNER / KANSAS" - and it seems much more plausible.

So here's my new theory. Rich Williams said the tour would be four weeks with Journey. Foreigner is stuck overseas until mid-May. Journey will headline the first four weeks of the tour in the spring, and then Foreigner will take over in May to finish out the tour into July.

We'll see

I'd buy that. Makes more sense than the tour only being four weeks long. Spring could be around the time that Journey heads into the studio...

Nice!

Well, they'd totally be the opener on that tour, so no way would they do it.
I think the Kansas/ Styx/ Speedwagon shit has been played out.
How ABOUT Foreigner? or Triumph? or Pat Benetar? Night ranger? Hell, theres lots of possibilities.

I don't think that's a full tour - looks to be just a one-off show. Good pairing though.

Kelly is great, he takes over the stage and you feel he's in charge, great frontman. I saw them with Starship and Bobby Kimball. Foreigner rocks.
