Horseshit. Journey charged as much if not more than Springsteen did. Tickets for Bruce ran 65 and 95. Wasn't Journey the same? if not more? They played decent sized places, even in secondary markets.

Average ticket prices for this last tour, according to Pollstar:

Bruce -- $87.19
Journey -- $62.00

Bruce sold out only 42 of his 72 shows. Even with the price differential, for Journey to not even make the list while Bruce came in at #3 makes me wonder about all those supposed sold out shows people were talking about on the other Journey sites. If the shows were sold out then the venues must have been VERY tiny not to generate enough income to make it into the top 25.

Isn't it such a shame that you could once pay $5 to see a kickass show? I shoulda been in my 20s in the 70s, not now

It's no secret on here they played in secondary markets this year and some were nice size but many were small venues compared to last year. Plus, I think it was talked about on here how the festivals they played this year in Europe weren't as big of moneymakers for them as compared to last year's venues over there. And where they came in at also depends on all the acts that are touring that year.

and 500,000 = platinum.

and somehow, 9 new songs + 11 covers = 10 new songs.
That's my favorite fuzzy math ever.

True Gunbot, BUT, it is the practice of Landau Mgt and Springsteen himself to make every seat in the arena available, including behind the stage. I wonder if Journey or some other acts had the entire place open or did they cordon off the back of the stage?

That's funny, as of Dec 15th, the RIAA still shows Revelation as single Platinum. More Journey math?
