My favorite front guys are Perry and Tyler (sober).
Mick just looks too girly for me. Couldn't believe how skinny he was in that Scorcese movie. HOLY CRAP MICK! EAT SOMETHING. Bruce... I haven't really seen in that light. I've only seen concert clips of him, never a whole show, so I can't judge his frontman abilities.

Jim, Bry, Scarab, have you ever seen Eagles? Or Fleetwood Mac? I can assure you that niether band is a snoozer live. Not even close.

The crowd sing alongs, alone during Eagles shows are a sight to behold. 16,000 or 80,000 people singing along every word. Not a sleepy eye in the house. Joe Walsh Rocks Life's been good to me, and Rocky Mountain Way, Walk Away and others, and then there is Henleys songs, alternated with Frey songs, One of These Nights, New Kid in Town, Take it to the Limit, Desperado, Already Gone, Take it Easy.......hit after hit after hit.

With the Mac opening up with their hit after hit, the only drawback to this show is the price. It's worth it if ya can afford it. I'll consider it if they come to Cincy for sure.

Yeah, saw FM. It was completely dull. Well played for sure- though Stevie ducked a lot of notes, but just boring. The Eagles- when I've seen their concert DVDs, they just kind of sit there. GREAT singers. GREAT players but just.... yawn. Sorry. New Kid in Town blows. Gimme ANY Henley song over a Glen Frye song any day of the week.

I did see Joe Walsh with Ringo's All Starr thing. He was funny and a great player. The Eagles, I'd give a chance. FM- been there, done that and they were so dull...

for me my favorites are.....Perry and Bruce.....Mick is okay and Tyler when sober is really good as well....but I would not put him in the same category with Perry or Springsteen.

My point is that you should go to a concert for the MUSIC and the energy the music generates. Sometimes that manifests itself in a physically "energetic" performance by the band and that's very cool indeed. But, sometimes...e.g., Pink Floyd etc....the music is the focal point and believe me, a concert can be just as enjoyable when the music is "magical" as when the band is "hopping"!

My point is, live, neither of their music generates enough energy for me to spend the dough. FM, especially, sounds better on record. The Eagles, sound the same actually.

While Bruce is no Steve Perry in the vocal acrobatics department he is a far more talented vocalist than Mick Jagger .. there is no way Jagger pulls off some of those haunting tunes Bruce does like Streets of Philly , while Bruce could and does easily have the rock vibe to his voice on his rockers

Yeah, I've heard 'em all. I have tried SO HARD to get into the Stones, but outside of a select few songs, I'd really rather never hear them unless I'm in a bar and pretty drunk and somethin like Start Me Up comes on. They just bore the hell out of me... they're really one of the few "legendary" bands that I can't get into at all, no matter how hard I've tried.

I didn't know how good a singer Bruce is until I got about 10 dvd's of this tour recently. He is an outstanding singer, so much better than Mick it's not funny. JoePa, come on dude. At least be honest with yourself. Mick is awesome, but vocally he isn't half the singer Bruce is. And as far as harmonica playing, you are high on crystal meth if you think Jagger is better than Springsteen. Ever hear The River, Thunder Road, or The Promised Land? Man that harmonica and C's sax are golden. The Big Man's sax is like musical sex to me...sounds so fucking good, better than guitar sometimes.

The sax is really a great instrument... I had the honor of playing in a jazz band (not really my thing, but...) with this kid who was AWESOME on sax. He could make a melody out of anything and play it over the most complex chords... great emoting/vibrato on his playing too. Just a really good player. I never even wanted to take any solos because I just wanted to absent-mindedly back him and listen/watch him play. Amazing.
