Are you kidding me? How sad. I loved her. She married a guy it came out later has a shady past. I hope he didn't drag her down and it wasn't a coke overdose. Her husband was taken off a plane last month and rushed to the hospital b/c he had stopped breathing.

Here she is in Closest Thing to Heaven music video. Such a luminous face.

"UPDATE 3:11 PM ET -- Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

We're told the LA County Coroner's is picking up Murphy's body from Cedars later today and will launch an investigation."

I'm hearing rumors of some sort of heart defect she'd had since birth, but this sounds pretty open and shut to me.
Barring such a defect, 32 year old women don't go into full cardiac arrest without a little assist from an illegal substance.
How sad...

Not much of a mystery here. When is the last time you've ever heard of a single Hollywood type dropping dead of "natural causes" at 32 or younger? I can't think of one single scenario. I'm reasonably confident that it will be disclosed at some point that she had a cocaine habit which contributed to her untimely death. That's simply the way these stories always unfold.

You know, she used to be much heavier than she has been in recent years. As soon as she got so skinny, she started getting lead roles. And her weight loss was fast and drastic, I remember thinking when I saw the change. I'm not saying it can't be drugs, or a congenital thing, but what about anorexia? That causes heart failure too.

No matter what the cause, very sad.

Look at recent pictures of her...she is as thin as a rail...

Sounds and looks like the diet/diet drugs got her.

Very sad...

And her career hadn't been very good for several years, and she had recently left a movie. It was said she was fired, but she denied she was fired. I several months ago saw her in a Lifetime or Hallmark movie (can't remember which) that she was really good in and it was good to see her again.

Oh I agree with you. Its possible she may have had some type of heart issue that wasnt caught but Im guessing drugs or anorexia, something like that.

Lou Gramm was amazing in his prime. These clips always make me sad. As for King of the Hill, never watched it much.

I saw some of KotH when it first started. Was surprised when I found out she was the voice of Luanne, Didn't sound like her at all to me. Compared to some of the other actressed of her time I think she was better than the rest. (Drew Barrymore, Wynona Ryder, Jolie, Cameron Diaz etc.)

Wouldn't she be at least "half" a generation after them? Where is Wynona anyway, I could really use her five finger discount card to score some new ties this Christmas season.

She was fantastic in that movie with Michael Douglas, Don't Say A Word.

Murphy, Jolie and Ryder were all in "Girl Interrupted". Murphy didn't have much to work with though. Her character was supposed to be drugged up most of the time if I remember it right. Ryder was pretty forgettable as usual. Cute face, ho hum actress. Jolie was a beast in the movie though. LOL

Same thing I was thinking. When your upper arms are the same width as your wrists, that's just ridiculously skinny (and personally that kind of skinny just looks gross to me, but seems there's plenty of men who like that boney look for some reason and so there's plenty of women who strive for it :? blech). Who knows for sure, but yes either way, very sad.

That is awesome. Won't happen here in FL either  though it will be in the 30's here tonight, which is darn cold for us FL wimps, lol. TSO will be great! I love their shows. My fav parts (since we don't get JSS in the East :x  ) were them doing Savatage's "Believe", awesome to hear live, and this singer named Steve Broderick doing "Old City Bar", killer voice, awesome singer. You and Deb have fun! 8)

Damn, I loved her. My favorite movie of hers was Girl, Interrupted with Angelina Jolie. She did such a convincing performance in portraying the realities of childhood abuse carrying over into adulthood as mental illness. She had such an air of vulnerability about her. Maybe it was her huge, souful brown eyes. I'm sorry to see her go... :(
