EXACTLY, and I picked up on that. You stated your case my man and need to say NO MORE. Translation: You'll NEVER give Pittsburgh credit or the benefit of the doubt, even in the midst of 6 championships. (I remember arguing the SAME last season to you and you said the Steelers are no threat and that SD would kick the shit out of Pitt. We all know what happened. 8) )

If I had a penny for everytime some Pittsburgh hot bag of air dropped the 6 championships I'd be fuckin retired in Cabo right now!  You weren't even alive for 4 of them my man.

Sad argument and I don't really need to address this. I understand the comment and realize you ARE a Clowns fan so I give you a pass. History never changes dude. You are a hypocrite as it is and claimed earlier that the Browns have "6,000 championships" and that you can't deny history of the "era" of the sport and it needs to be respected. I say you don't celebrate Steve Perry and Journey because you WEREN'T born when he became lead singer and you've never seen him perform for Journey. No matter WHAT you say it's Pittsburgh Steelers: 6 Super Bowl Championships. :P

That argument was in jest so as to show you the absurdity of the constant ass trumpeting of 6 championships. You're entitled to your admittedly storied history as a fan, as history is crucially important in ANY sport, but when a 20-something person runs around talking about such things that predate them ALL the time, which ALL of my Pittsburgh friends do, it really looks stupid. Find something new to celebrate.

The Journey/Perry thing is total apples to oranges.

Not that I have to explain myself because it's seriously entering dumb arguments for the sake of arguing, last time I checked, this is the NFL thread. This is where you show your pride as a fan. This is the whole point in celebrating and being a FAN of a team. Celebrating not only the team, but it's history. Something I don't expect you to understand and take into consideration. I don't want to seem like I'm fighting you with this because I'm not but if the Browns had 6 championships, you'd be the first one to banter it all over and you know it, it's the damn point of the fanbase of the NFL! Deal with it. As far as something NEW to celebrate, I will. It's called Super Bowl 43! lmao.

Journey is NOT apples and oranges. It's the same thing you claim but a different perspective.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if the Browns had 6 rings. But, to assume that I'd resort to the juvenility of "WE HAVE 6 RINGS SO STFU" argument in the face of criticism about the current state of your team that you Shittsburgh buffoons love so much is totally wrong. It's akin to arguing that my dad can kick your dad's ass. Totally juvenile, stupid, and irrelevant. They are a subpar team this year and 100 previous Super Bowls doesn't change that.

LOL A turd fan from Cleveland calling Pittsburgh, Shitsburgh is too funny. :D Whatever you say. I see what your saying because if I was in your position I'd be pissed as well since the Browns can't really say ANYTHING else to argue against Steelers fans and you getting pissed about something as simple as being a proud franchise shows that. It's cool. That's why Browns and Steelers fans hate each other. Too bad the rivalry between the two will never be the same. Hell, it's the Ravens who are REALLY the old Browns and it's no coincidence that the Steelers rival within the division would be the Ravens.

I guess I should rip up my Mean Joe Green, Bradshaw, Franco, and Lambert replica jersey's since I wasn't born when they played and give it to someone who witnessed them playing. Dammit.  They should put up a sign in foot locker next to the throwback jersey's and have a sign that reads (Purchase applies for ONLY the people that was born in the year of 1970-1980) I love sports. Turns the sane into insane.

Keep laughin Travis, you just ain't gettin it. You guys resort to the championship count as if you had a personal say and personal stake in each and every one when someone talks trash about the current team. It's a shitty, uninventive argument that does nothing to prove the team's worth year to year. You're entitled to your history, but you're not entitled to use it to legitimate a crappy, subpar team, not this year, next year, or 50 years from now.

Here's what Bengals fans are saying about their team heading to the playoffs.

Pretty simple question, who do you want to play...then in your post if you want to list the teams in order go for it....

1. Broncos (17 votes)
2. Jets (9 votes)
3. Patriots (6 votes)
3. Ravens (4 votes)
4. Texans (0 votes)
5. Steelers (0 votes)

To play Denver we need to beat the Jets, Houston beat NE, and Denver beat KC, and Bal beat Oakland.

To play Jets we just need to lose. I would HATE to see Pittsburgh, as much as I hate them. just saying.

Broncos, then the Jets. Ravens next because we match up well with them. Texans, with the Steelers the team I definitely don't want to face.

I was just wondering if anyone knows specifically what Pittsburgh needs to happen to get in the playoffs? Ideally they lose and we dont have to worry about them and we can go out and give the Jets a good game on national tv and beat them. But if we win that game and it means we have to play the steelers in the first round, I wouldnt be against losing.

On the scary opponent scale, my list would be:

1. Houston- They matchup well because of their passing game and ability to score points. Without their TE this time around.

2. Pittsburgh- Similar to Houston because they can throw it around. Pit always scares us and that's just hard to admit.

3. NY Jets- They can put Revis on Ocho and their D could shut us down. Not scared of their O. Could be a 7-6 game.

4. Baltimore- Good matchup for us because their CB's suck. Still, enough talent and experience to give some difficulty.

5. Denver- I don't know why but the Broncos don't scare me too much. Some good players (Dumervil, Champ, Marshall) and a good coach, but I don't know that they can score much on us and their D isn't on the Jets' level.

Very nice, I would prefer this over Pittsburgh or Baltimore. I'd also love to have a part in keeping Pittsburgh out of the playoffs and not have to play them if we lose to the Jets. Go Jets! lol

I've stated numerous times this season that the Steelers are subpar and I'm okay with that. I've lived through seasons like this and we'll be back. But who are you to tell someone how to do things. I'm entitled to do and say whatever. Yes, I'm entitled to use anything the history says, just like John uses his statistics for EVERYTHING. Don't blame me, blame the Browns for not giving you a reason to stand up to it  But yes, the Steelers blew their wad this year but like I said, we'll be back.

I heard a great line by a sports writer (William C. Rhoden) over the weekend. He said the following about FraudBoys fans: "If you listen to Cowboys fans, they act like they've won every super bowl for the past 30 years when the reality is that that team hasn't won a single playoff game in almost 15 years". It's the same reason I never really said much about the Celtics prior to Garnett joining them. Although they are the most storied franchise in basketball, it had been quite some time since their glory years. I personally witnessed four of their 17 championships, but, they hadn't won a championship since 1986, so there was really nothing for me to say.

The Steelers have their history and good for them. I still say those 70's Steelers teams are the most dreadful offensive teams to ever win anything. They were a bunch of overrated average players on the offensive side of the ball and are fortunate that their defense was good enough to carry their sorry asses. Fuck Bradshaw (who sucked). Fuck Swann. Fuck Harris, and Fuck Stallworth.

Who gives a fuck what jackass fans are saying. It has about as much relevance as what you and I are saying. The reality is that the Bengals will probably lose to all of those teams aside from the Jets and maybe the Broncos. I've said all season long that I'm not sold on the Bengals, AT ALL. I callled the Titans out last season as a fraud team and feel the same way about the Bengals this season. They're simply not that good of a team, in spite of their record in a shitty division!

Hall of Famers all...how many people do the Cheatriots have in TOTAL in the Hall of Fame?

Face it, The Cheatriots organization can't hold a candle to the Steelers organization, not in any shape or form. We have more championships, more playoff appearances, more Hall of Famer players than your precious Cheatriots...oh and we never had to cheat to get anywhere... (Insert your comment about the refs here  )

The Rooney's the best sports owners period, in any professional sport.

While the last 10 years have been good to the Cheats, they have a LONG way to go to match the success of the Steelers on ANY level.

You play your part as well. Dude, the thing is, all fans have asshole fans and are classless. But, I've never seen a bunch of asshole and arrogant fans as I did N.E fans, EVER. They are ALL the same and you're the ring leader. The things you say to tear shit down just reaks of hatred and that rubs off of everything else. If you'd encounter yourself in a parallel world, you'd hate yourself more than ANYBODY and that's a fact. Like I said, classless.

Then why don't you try and shut our big mouths?? Hell I offered to come to Boston and step in a ring with you, and pay your medical bills after...oh wait, you don't want your ass beat....it's ok...you are an internet stud...we understand...you talk loud, act big but you can't back up your rantings by putting it on the line.

And we may be big mouth fans, but at least our team doesn't cheat to win.

And we may be big mouth fans, but at least our team doesn't cheat to win.

lol, calm down Stu! It shouldn't get to this point. It's all in good fun. Me and Matt bicker back and forth because you know how Steelers/Browns are. John does take it to a different extreme and comes off as the biggest piece of shit to ever come across a forum. Still, it's all in fun. But if you look at a history of JFB, this ranges from all subjects, not just the NFL forum. The dude hates the world. I'd bet if we'd meet this dude in person he'd be cool and we'd MIGHT have a civilized convo. But yes, John rubs a lot of people the wrong way because he's never wrong and commands that people change their opinion to format his. It's all good.

I could give a fuck if their long snapper is in the hall of fame. It doesn't change the fact that they were all very mediocre players. You can brag about Shitsburgh all day long. While I'll certainly concede that the Steelers have more championships than the Patriots have, the Patriots weren't even a real NFL franchise until about 10 years ago! Let me know if you want to count all the other trophies each city has. In fact, I'll tell you what....you can add every trophy every team in Shithole has won (including the Steelers) and I'll only count the Celtics trophies.

I like that and all, but nah, that's irrelevant, so stop back peddling. (You swearing and talking down just makes you look even more wrong, Johnny.) Like I said, Boston has a whole professional sport leg up from Pittsburgh, so it REALLY isn't fair to compare now is it? Bottom line is, that no matter what you say about Pittsburgh, they will always be marked as one of the best sports cities to ever grace the sports world. It's just the way it is. Plus, the cities beautiful and puts New England's landscape to SHAME. Chowder country sucks!

A couple of points. First off Travis, I think you're a good dude, as misguided as you may be. It's your arrogant, cocksucking douchebag, cuntrag neighbor who I can't stand. If I were still 12 and didn't have a family to support and a future to secure, I'd drive to Shitsburgh just to see what a tough guy he is. As far as me wanting to change anyone's mind to see things my way, you couldn't be more wrong. You won't meet a person on this planet who gives less of a fuck about people agreeing with my opinion and how I see the world. I've honestly never given a shit what anyone else thinks about my opinion on anything. It's simply not relevant on how I view things!

LOL

How comforting it must be to have to rely on being called the possible most scariest team to face if you get in? I would rather be 10-5 and have fans saying we were overrated and not sold on us at all, all the while being able to tank a last regular season game in order to get the matchup we want in the first round of the playoffs we know we will already be in. You can have your argument and I have mine. Now, wouldn't you much rather be in the Bengals or Patriots shoes instead of Pittsburghs?

It should never get personal, which we've touched. I know and I'm SURE your a good guy. It's the damn internet. I think your just as mis-guided as you view me to be. Point is, that's not a good attitude to have and it's people like you people try to avoid. You're not pleasant, and you're certainly not fun to have around. You constantly talk down on others and even though you don't give a shit, I call your bluff because you wouldn't post in the first place. You can certainly argue and debate in different ways than calling people douche bags, and throwing every name in the book at them. You know your stuff, and you're obviously VERY bright, but you throw that completely down the shitter the way you handle yourself. I know you don't give a shit but that's the truth. Ohwell.

LOL, I'm not denying I'd rather be in their position because truth be told, YES! I would. But everything around here turns into a HUGE dilemma and out of proportion. All I said was it cracks me up on how other teams worry about the Steelers and sometimes not their own team. And that if the Steelers would make it, they would be a team that would be dangerous. But yes, I'd love to be in Cincy's position, of COURSE. Point is, the Steelers have been in the playoffs SO MANY TIMES and only missed them a few years out of the last couple decades, so it doesn't bother me cause Steelers fans are spoiled. I know it gets on other teams fans nerves to see the Steelers continually make the playoffs every year when their teams makes it maybe 3 times a decade. It's just the nature of the beast.

Enough AFC talk. Who is the "scary" team in the NFC?
I say Green Bay, and I do think Minnesota wants no part of them, for the simple fact that they already beat GB twice. Favre would really feel the pressure wouldn't he?

I've pimped Green Bay all year, even when they were on a slide. People called me nuts but I also think it's Green Bay and Minny. I think Minny will slip and the Packers will host the NFC Champ game to the Eagles, who was my Super Bowl participant before the season. Eagles/Colts/Chargers Superbowl. Cards are scary but I'm rooting for Green Bay though to make it and win it.
