Raised On Radio or Trial By Fire,Which Do You Prefer?

one was released in 1986 and the other was a reunion disc ten years later in 1996.both have its good points and bad points.they both to me are a lot more mellow than earlier efforts but there is still some very good material on both.

Are you just repeating the same topics that you created when you first join this forum?..though,I suppose it is pretty dead around here.

Both are great disk. I dont see the point of having to compare all the time. I dont see how anyone could not like either of thes albums.
For me TBF edges because of "Still Se Cries", the loveliest Journey ballad.

Perry's voice compared to TBF, weaker vocals overall, gives ROR a huge edge.

ROR for the song quality.

However, I wish that some restraint was used on the Keyboard-end of things. Those keys make the album sound extremely dated to me.

TBF just wasn't that great an outing for the band in my opinion, WYLAW aside.

Someone made the comment about when you review the Perry solo albums, ROR stands on top. I have to agree with that.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Well, I did the TBF compared to Arrival, b/c I was always interested to see what people thought comparing their last album with Steve after a ten-year hiatus and being a different sounding album compared to their 80s stuff versus Arrival, their first album with a new singer as far as the best overall album.
