I can hear someone having a big hit with this track. Shame it won't be DD, but someone like Carrie Underwood would be be No.1 if she recorded this song.

I backtrack. I rate this song my favorite in 2009. I forgot, but this has been my all-time favorite this year, even above Moment of Surrender U2.

One of my faves too. Bought the cd mainly for that song, just love it.

JSS's Madrid Live cd and Mr. Big's Live cd have been getting lots of play lately......I love LIVE. :)

Is there a live human voice underneath all that vocal processing? Disgusting.

At first I thought it was gonna be an Eagles cover and I was gonna have to seek the maximum penalty if this broad desecrating The Eeagles was your favorite song of the year.

First of all, I hate the Eagles, so for sure wouldn't have picked it had it been a cover :P

Second of all, I thought we were listing favorite songs, didnt' know it was a "list your song and it will be critiqued" thread :P

I like songs for different reasons. Sometimes the lyrics touch me, sometimes the instrumental moves me, sometimes it's the whole sound. This song does that for a few different reasons. I really don't think I need to explain. Was just listing a song I like . Sorry it disgusted you.

Haha, don't take too much offense Lynn, you know I'm just messin. The song still sucks though

And this is MR - critique is expected and indeed welcomed in all threads

a few stood out for me (in no particular order)....

WET - If I Fall (good to very good album with one absolute killer of a song)
Rob Thomas - Her Diamonds (perfect example of making a serious story into a pop song...good pop rock album with RT setting himself up as another Phil Collins--which is no bad thing in my book)
One Republic - All the Right Moves (not a fan of band, but a very good song)
Gotthard - Break Away (new album is a case of "very good, but nothing really standing out as classic"....this one comes closest due to the chorus)

and the #1....
Magnum - All My Bridges (it's a good feeling to hear one of your favorite bands come out with a song that proves they still have it many years after their "prime". This one stands up quite well with the classic material even after the newness wore off)

hard to rate any of the Alias songs as "new". They would have qualified for that in '94ish when the album was supposed to have been released. Both songs also surfaced on the Freddy Curci Zion album from 2006, for that matter.

I'm aware of that - the title of the thread is Favorite Song of 2009. Never Say Never was released in 2009, and I also did not purchase Zion until this year, so for me, it's new and a favorite - technically :P .

I like that one too. I like a lot of their older stuff too, not a big Skynyrd fan at all, but I do love the lyrics to "Simple Man" and Shinedown does a great version of it.

My fav of 2009- "Comes Down Like Rain"- W.E.T.

Also like the remake of "Believe" that TSO stuck on their new album.
