I, too, like Augeri, but that doesn't discount the fact that he, like the rest of his bandmates at the time, were pulling a completely bullshit maneuver at the time. And all of the "swinging" in the world doesn't make the fact that they played less than honest shows go away. Hmmmmm....I lost track of dates.....but I'd say ever since Mandalay Bay. Didn't attend, but I went to a show that tour, and bought the DVD.....so probably early to mid '01......early stages of BT......The Cooler......etc.

They were mercilessly photoshopped, motherfucked, had their manhood and height called into question and everything else under the sun (and they deserved it). Everyone took their lumps on that one and it's over. They were all equally guilty and it's time to move on. Fuck, I'll be the first one to admit that I still enjoyed those concerts and the people I met, and I've been ok with it (the whole insincerity) for quite awhile. No one still speaks ill of Augeri on here, but Schon and Cain are still villified ... and that's ok. People are allowed to do that. But don't paint Augeri as some casualty of the big, bad Journey machine. He's admitted he fucked up and said as much. It's over.

Regardless of the past I honestly believe-and obviously others do as well-that Steve Augeri is the best lead singer Journeys had since Steve Perry. And I believe he did everything he could out of desperation to keep his job. Yeah, I know Schon took a lot of shit for that episode but what about the shit hes taking for Captain Youtube???? I'd rather explain the whole "the show must go on" thing with Augeri than this bullshit that I cant understand a word hes saying. Since when did the first line in Only the Young change to "another night in any sound..."

And I think that's a poor masked attempt to try and make people feel guilty for liking a lineup that everyone said was doomed to fail ... and toured the world to rave reviews. Keep on hating, but the numbers will never change. Top 5 debut album (which eventually went Gold, Platinum and Double Platinum), tour receipts through the roof and a #1 DVD. I'd be a pissed off hater if I was as wrong as you were.

Hey guys, what's up? Even though I've finally made an account, I've been reading here and there. Well I'll introduce myself by saying I'm a big Journey fan at the age of 18, and their music just kicks ass all over the place. I have attended my first concert a month ago in Cinci, and will be attending my 2nd in Pittsburgh on Sept. 13th.

Lemme just say that J.S.S did a superb job as a front man, and can really work a crowd and stage like no other. Although he has some great pipes, do you really think he can take over the reigns without the JOURNEY sound if Augeri isn't able to come back? From posts I have read, looks like you guys don't approve of Steve A. and I was just wondering why? He seems like a great guy, and although he had to replace a LEGEND at the vocals, he did a fine job himself in stepping into the lineup and with the guys. Soto I look at the same way, as Augeri became Journey, they had to fly Soto in to replace him as he went down, and that takes BIG BALLS to step into those kind of circumstances and into a tour like this. Kudos to Jeff for stepping up to the plate when needed the most. But as it is said, he is in for the time until Augeri will be back. Can Journey be able to survive another Lead Singer? After all, I am curious to see what Steve A has to offer since I never got to see him in concert, besides the 2001 DVD haha. We'll see I guess

Band is in it's best shape since Perry left. The success of the past two years didn't get past me but apparently you slept thru it.
