Band is in it's best shape since Perry left. The success of the past two years didn't get past me but apparently you slept thru it.

Augeri gave a lot to Journey and helped keep them alive and Arrival rocks, love it, but live with Journey music Arnel brings it and then some.

S777I wouldnt expect you to say anything different.

SJ-I'll just put it this way-if I had to choose a concert this year between Augeri solo at some small music club or the great big Journey boys my ass will be right in front of Augeri, shaking his hand and telling him thanks for being responsible for us even talking about Journey today with recent relevance.

Hey guys, what's up? Even though I've finally made an account, I've been reading here and there. Well I'll introduce myself by saying I'm a big Journey fan at the age of 18, and their music just kicks ass all over the place. I have attended my first concert a month ago in Cinci, and will be attending my 2nd in Pittsburgh on Sept. 13th.

Lemme just say that J.S.S did a superb job as a front man, and can really work a crowd and stage like no other. Although he has some great pipes, do you really think he can take over the reigns without the JOURNEY sound if Augeri isn't able to come back? From posts I have read, looks like you guys don't approve of Steve A. and I was just wondering why? He seems like a great guy, and although he had to replace a LEGEND at the vocals, he did a fine job himself in stepping into the lineup and with the guys. Soto I look at the same way, as Augeri became Journey, they had to fly Soto in to replace him as he went down, and that takes BIG BALLS to step into those kind of circumstances and into a tour like this. Kudos to Jeff for stepping up to the plate when needed the most. But as it is said, he is in for the time until Augeri will be back. Can Journey be able to survive another Lead Singer? After all, I am curious to see what Steve A has to offer since I never got to see him in concert, besides the 2001 DVD haha. We'll see I guess

It's good to post and talk about my favorite band...JOURNEY

Nothing wrong with any of that sentiment you posted above, but your over-the-top bashing of Arnel is bordering on obsessive.

Here is mine ( I think). And Jana thought I was Tito. (I did not know how to use the quote function).

http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... sc&start=0

Quote [There are now more and more new fans of Journey because of the classics sung by Steve Perry.]

They gained some fans when they hired SA, on top of that they gained some fans when they hired JSS
But most of all, Journey gained many new fans when they hired Arnel. Then Arnel rekindled the interest and enthusiasm of Journey fans all over the world because he not only nails the classics but also puts a slight spin to the songs that ultimately makes them his own.

People are also rediscovering the beauty of Journey music….beautiful and catchy lyrics of Jon Cain and the riffs and licks of Neal Schon’s guitar that make Journey songs distinct.

Ultimately, it’s still because of “Journey the band”.

One of my first few posts, I posted this picture and dedicated the pix to SJ, I think I made him mad at that time, so I apologize.

Hey, man, you can go see whomever you like. I saw Augeri last year at JTTC and he sounded pretty darn good. Not 2001 good, but still very good. Steve did a fantastic job in his time with the band. Neal and Co. made a guy working in a department store a millionaire many times over for merely singing someone else's songs, and have afforded him the luxury to retire early. Arnel has had more success, but his story is really only slightly different success-wise (so far). I'm sure they both appreciate it that very much.

That was hysterical  . That was shitty how he was let go, but then again I've long since removed my rose colored glasses in the world of music and rock stars, LOL. The majority of that band are over AARP age now, LOL, so, while I don't see Arnel as the second coming some here do   , he does do a good job with a hard job that few can pull off, and I will enjoy shows here and there while it lasts. Hope to see Augeri live this year if there's a JTTC thing again and he sings again.

Hey, that's my birthday... I KNEW there was something special about that day!  Just messing with you B. Here's MY first post and GUESS WHAT IT WAS??? Me pimping myself out like a 2 dollar HO!

Here it is...

Hey guys, this is my 1st post. I am a keyboardist/songwriter and a long time Journey fan! I am just wondering what you guys(and gals) would think about a new album in the vein of Journey? I have written a lot of stuff in the last couple of years that is definitely influenced by Journey, but I'm just curious if you think there might be a market for it? I know that Clear Channel radio has this country on lock-down against any 80's sounding music, but I'd just like to hear some feedback from other fans. Thanks!

June 12th 2007 was the day Soto was let go ,,, well when he found out he was let go .....

Hey, that's my birthday... I KNEW there was something special about that day!  Just messing with you B. Here's MY first post and GUESS WHAT IT WAS??? Me pimping myself out like a 2 dollar HO!

Here it is...

Hey guys, this is my 1st post. I am a keyboardist/songwriter/skin flute player and a long time Journey fan! I am just wondering what you guys(and gals) would think about a new album in the vein of Journey? I have written a lot of stuff in the last couple of years that is definitely influenced by Journey, but I'm just bi-curious if you think there might be a market for it? I know that Clear Channel radio has this country on lock-down against any 80's sounding music, but I'd just like to hear some feedback from other fans. Thanks!

Interesting first post, Jim.

Why don't you just shut you meat ditch Grape Ape!!! :D

EDIT!!! I didn't catch you rewording my post! ASSHOLE!!!

I excited now!!! My pics of Marco Mendoza are there and I lost the originals when my old computer crashed!!

I remember that! Isn't this clip from that show........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEe3llSWx4g

LOL, fancy footwork there from Soto and Mendoza. Always seem to have great chemistry, would be cool to see those 2 work together again.

How do you know Steve A is a millionaire ??? are you talkin out your anus?

He made that much in his time Steve. He was "bought out" for a good chunk of change. I am not about to divulge the sum, but it was up there.

I sure hope it was, I sure spent a lot of change to see him when he sang for Journey, and I enjoyed it. Its a shame how it went down, but I enjoyed the 4 years that i saw him with the band. I wouldnt trade it for anything

Yeah that's fine and all....but he disgraced the community or the chapel that is rock n roll. You don't fake it, period. The entire band should be brought up on charges. It still pisses me off. Where is the respect for music? And they complain about not getting into the RnR HOF? Come on now?! They will never get in because of this and IMHO shouldn't.

I agree,it was good for awile , the whole band blows for doing that, and i dont respect them anymore.I did like his effort, and the the good times I had seeing the band ,it is past as far as im concerned. It was good seeing the band get there star on the Hollywood walk of fame, especaially when Perry showed up.After that, they dont deserve shit since all the bullshit they pulled
