I just awoke from a 3 hour nap after getting the first real legitimate sickness since late 2008 for me. Between beating the hell out of my body sleepwise and boozewise in New Orleans for 3 days, a long travel day back after an all-nighter, and this bitter cold weather, I've gotten either a nasty cold/respiratory thing or maybe strep (givin it one more day of sleep). I'm fuckin beat and not feeling any better after a long nap. Fuck winter!

My friend went down for the Sugar bowl. Her son was playing in the band at halftime. She kept calling me and saying "these are your people. this is you kind of city."

I definitely want to get down there one day and check it out!

Oh man, if I lived there, I'd be dead within 10 years... way too many opportunities for fun there!

I didn't get to try Etouffee but my bud had some at Oceana and said it was excellent. My favorite gumbo was a chicken & sausage gumbo from a place called Cajun Cabin or something like that. Great stuff.

From WCCO radio:

It was 37 below zero Sunday morning in International Falls. The Twin Cities area had temperatures ranging from 13 to 22 below Sunday morning. Forecasters say the arctic cold snap will continue. Sunday night the Twin Cities temperature is expected to drop to 11 below with a high of 7 above Monday. Tuesday's high will be 8 above. There'll be some moderation mid-week but another cold snap will follow with a high of only 4 above Thursday in the metro area and a low of 10 below Thursday night.

I suspect that this is nothing compared to the cold in Canada but it's below average. It's alot colder if you factor in the wind chill. At least cold viruses can't live in this weather. I must admit I prefer this to 90 degrees with humidity in the summer. And there are no mosquitos...
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Doing a snow dance for Thursday, I am still sick and having to work. Blech. I could use a day or two to stay warm in my comfy bed with covers up to my eyeballs. I have bus duty in sub-teen temps tomorrow. The wind blows right through the area I have to stand. Oh joy.......... Please, just enough snow to block the roads so I can stay home to get well? Maybe I need to rub John from Boston's head so that dandruff that falls where he lives makes it's way here. LOL! Just messing with you JoHn. LOL!

Let it snow ..........Let it snow........Let it snow!

Yes - we all live in igloos here :) . (Actually where I am it was about 40 degrees today - but now all the slush is freezing making driving treacherous).

Europe is bad off ,too. NO SUN SPOTS may be the culprit. Lay off Gore. He had the ability to turn his 5 mil into a 500 million fortune. What a guy! There is huge money in global warming and scientists are divided 50-50 depending on where they get their funding. That English Univ that got hacked 2 weeks ago showed how desparate these scientists are to knock the opposition. Think people, this earth had periods of huge climate change long before man and dinosaurs.
