It seems to be the rockstar's death drug of choice. I wonder why the attraction to this drug? It's cut short many a brilliant career. Why would anyone want to fuck with it, given what's known about it?

I wondered the same thing. Maybe we needed a stronger drug.

I don't see how anyone could ever inject themselves with anything other than something absolutely medically necessary, let alone a dangerous drug. Absolutely bewildering.

If we were to list all the artists taken out by this drug, it will be a hell of a list.

It seems to be replaced by an overdose on a cocktail of prescription drugs taking out the celebrities these days.

Probably true. I was drawn to this topic reading thru wiki about some musicians who are no longer with us and noticed the drug had taken many.

I guess "medically necessary" would be in the eye of the beholder in that situation, huh?

What a coincidence. I was listening to Alice in Chains on the way to and from work and was thinking to myself what a tragedy it is that Layne Staley became so consumed by his addiction. The entire discography of Alice in Chains with Layne was a series of confessions and fears from a self-aware, in-too-deep heroin addict.. and yet he couldn't get help nor help himself.

I just finished reading Nikki Sixx's book The Heroin Diaries. It was his diary entries from I think it was the year '87. I'm surprised that guy is still alive! Tommy too. LOL, some interesting tidbits in there..... Slash is a bedwetter. And Nikki hated Whitesnake, with the exception of Rudy Sarzo who he loved to death.

Next book on my nightstand.........Rudy Sarzo's Off The Rails. Rudy's accounts (lol probably the only sober one) of touring with Ozzy etc back in the day and his friendship with Randy Rhoades. Should be a good read! :)

I saw an interview Nikki did about this book talking about his life. It does sound wild.

Yeah, just finished it about a month ago. Fascinating read... but WHY is it fascinating? The guy's a friggin' train wreck.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Because he is a train wreck!! If he were Ozzie Nelson,
home by nine, reading a bedtime story to David and Ricky, chit~chatting w/the wife
while she's reheating his dinner, a little tv and off to bed...... we'd be bored to tears!!

Kinda the way people thought Tiger lived before the truth came out...

What is so different about tiger ..a young man who has a voracious appetite for sex(and his name happens to be tiger) hes no different than millions of men or woman at that age(married or single)

Tiger is no different than any other famous guy that has had thousands of loose woman(who knew he was married and still tried to have sex with him) .You can only turn down free sex for so long especially when your considered the best at something(look at history.....sports, politics ,movies). Nothing has changed in hundreds, if not 1000's of years.

A lot of kids and adults hooked on heroin started out on oxycontin. They get hooked and then when they either can't get any more pills or their habit becomes too expensive, they turn to heroin as a cheap substitute.
