Message from Steve on his birthday?

Hey Lora & Cyndy, any chance the elusive Mr. Steve Perry will be posting a message on Fan Asylum this year on his birthday?

Still fans out here hoping to catch up! That would be a nice treat!

I second the question! Lora? Cyndy?

I'd also like to see one. He didn't do one last year, did he? I wonder why not.

So it wouldn't be expected is my thought... he's under no obligation to do a thing. Was it nice when he did? Absolutely, but I can see him not wanting to have to make it a "mandatory thing".

I hope Steve has had a wonderful year filled with days of smiles & nights of contentment.
Hope he sends us a few of his thoughts & a smile
I visited Fan Assylum & took a walk down memory lane. .
Did read a few of his messages & some really made me smile.

Thinking back to that fated day 1/21/05 at the HWOF & shortly therafter
Q&A at how he answered my question right before the last answer about his Mom & the crystal shop which brought back a n eery experience that happened to me.

I also had a strange crystal shop experience in the late 90's. I received a phone call from someone named Tom who wanted to rent a store to sell crystals.. He explained his crystal shop was closing & he wanted to open a new one. I like crystals so I asked where his store was & he told me.
It was not far from where I worked so I went there one day & I found the crystal shop.
It was closing & everything was half price.
I looked around & found some things that caught my eye & later on I mentiond that Tom had sent me but the owners said they didn't know anyone by that name but they felt somehow that I was meant to find the place.
Still gives me the chills

I bought frankenscense, myrrh, a black obsidian egg with a gold bullseye & some small quartz crystals ( double terminated, record keepers). I was very happy to get such treasures at such a good price & it seemed it was my destiny to find them.

I have always liked crystals esp quartz. I took one into work to show a coworker a long time ago & they tested me by rotating the crystal clock wise or counter clockwise above my palm as I had my eyes closed.I could feel the energy moving over my hand even though it wasn't touching me
It was powerful & it frightened me so that I never tried that again. It is a reminder that there are things we can't see & there are voices we can't hear but we have to keep our hearts open as there is still "magic" in this world.

A few years ago I bought some crystals and the store owner recommended a book called Love Is in the Earth by Melody - it may be a bit more metaphysical than I am looking for, but you may find it very interesting if you don't have it already!

Hey, that's a great idea, only thing is, Lora and Cyndy have not responed to your question as of yet.

So, that could be good and bad at the same time, right?

Like maybe, he is going to post t a message this year and he doesn't want then to let the cat out of the bag, sort of speak.

Or, maybe, he just wants to stay retired and live his life as he has been, for all these years.

Either way, I'm still gonna continue to love him for all he has given us.

He poured so much of his heart and soul into his music over the years, that he deserves to have his life the way he wants it.

If anyone wants to leave a Birthday message for Steve, you can leave one on http://fortheloveofsteveperry.com

All I know is, I will love and miss him if he does not return to the "Faithful" fans!

Peace.

Thanks.
Interesting, might check it out in the library.

Wouldn't it be nice to find love that allows one to transcends this earth...
wish it was something you could wish upon, blow out the candles & have come true.

Crystals are pretty & the old radios actually had crystals that would resonate on a particular frequency & pick up the radio waves.
This world is full of the extraordinary thanks to those who had the vision to see where no one else would dare.

I believe energy is in everything & all around us but we just can't perceive it.
I also believe that love is the most powerful force of all

Reminds me about the time I tried to take out this magic book from the library & they told me I couldn't.
Seems it wasn't a library book so they just told me it was mine. I don't know how it got on the shelves or who left it there but it was kind of cool.

Back in the day much of the hoopla on Perry's BD was from Perry websites putting together cards, donations, etc! So now I am reminded of quite the shake up regarding one particular site and what was going on behind the scenes, brought to many's attention for the first time right here. WAs any of this ever resolved?

There are still websites putting birthday messages together.

www.theothermrsperry.com
www.fortheloveofsteveperry.com
www.melodicrock.com/steve perry forum

Whether he will ever see them is the big question.

It would truly be sweet if Steve left us a birthday message at www.fanasylum.com
then we could all celebrate with him. It's a two way street, fans and star. :)

Uh, I think Lora and Cyndy are as suprised as us when he does an interview with them. I don't think he swears them to great secrecy and threatens them with life.................though I do know they have kitties and they may fear punching reprisals.

I think wishing for him to put out a Birthday message to all of us is great. However I think that after awhile it gets to be almost an obligation. Once it becomes something people expect you to do then you have to figure out what to say and how to say it, be considerate about what they are waiting to hear and what they've heard and what they think of you cause of what they've heard. It's a task and not fun and sometimes not clever. So if you wonder if he thinks about it; I'm sure he does and maybe it's better not to say nothing then something cause nothing is sometimes better than something. I think we should give the man a breather; and wish him a Happy Birthday. It is his birthday. Take off a bit of the pressure and just allow him to enjoy his day without having to sit down and try figuring out what to say to all of us who are waiting to hear. And if he does...well, he's more than generous and gracious. He should be out there doing whatever people like him do on their birthdays.
