most I think are attention grabers... who love the spotlight and it gives them 5 minutes of TV time... but some think they are so good, because no one has told them they stink in there whole lives... I think they get to idol hoping for some positive... and when they come out of audition... they are shocked that the judges said no... my guess is 90% of the ones that have been told NO... were never told NO in their lives... and thus... reality sinks in on them and it destroys who they thought they were for a few moments... just my two cents worth... idol has been on for 10 years... you would think by now the lousy ones would stay home... ;-)

Actually Idol has been on 7 years....the first few years you had 2 'seasons' per calender year. :P

I felt so bad for that one guy from Alabama! He was a nervous wreck. I almost fell of my chair laughing when he goes "I done froze up". And Mary was laughing so hard... the whole thing was hilarious, but reallyl mean. I felt bad for him, but man it was funny. Then there was the girl from Tennessee that they clearly put through as a pity vote who was beside herself that she was going to get to fly on an Aero-plane!

The only Idol reject I know who became popular (well sort of) is William Hung. After his funny audition in Season 2 with his famous "She Bangs" they gave him a record deal, a movie in his native country, MTV and some solo appearances. I think this guy started the whole cult figure for bad but funny auditions and he capitalized it. Now he is the one laughing all the way to the bank

I also loved the Neil Young version by Jimmy Fallon. Great impression!

Check the :14 mark... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uEcSZbolXo Keith & his golden ticket to Hollywood...! So, did he make it there or not? ...If you're in the Chicago area, tune into Fox News @ 9pm tonight to find out what happened next... All I can say is, I never liked AI until last fall. There are some really cool people there.

LOL... it's okay. Now that it's day of & he's in the fucking bumper promo I suppose I don't have to pretend that I'm clueless anymore.

Just watch the news segment. It'll be pretty damn cool, regardless. :)

I know, it's like "ok, the jig is up." LOL! I'm sure Ritchie or someone will youtube it after it airs on the news, so in case it doesn't make it onto Idol, you can post the YT for those not in Chicago. But I can't imagine they'd use him in the promo if it won't be on the show. I don't know.

there is a Katelyn Epperly from West Des Moines singing tonight on idol, I think she gets airtime, is 19 graduated from Valley High School... it would be cool to see her get to the top 24. I dont know her family or anything... but cool to have someone local on the show. The radio personalities in town say she is a good singer.

I am most looking forward to seeing Shaina!!

I nearly missed it. Got home in the last 15 minutes (in time to see Keith too!) and then as it was going off, I was like "Holy crap, that was Nick!"
