Yes, that is true Deb. Because I don't see Shamar or others of equal hottness on MR too often, but I've seen A LOT of almost naked ladies. But see, we can look at a women and declare her beauty, but men can't do that with hot men, so they FREAK OUT when they DO see what we see I bet, so they have to counter act that with a half naked woman to remind themselves they are STRAIGHT

You might find a few, but they'd never be invited to pose for the cover of Maxim.

I'm sure there are guys who do it out of jealousy, but the trend is FAR more prevalent among women, even below the celebrity level.

When we were in New Orleans, EVERY hot girl my buddy and I pointed out was quick to have all her flaws cruelly pointed out by my third buddy's girlfriend that was unfortunately along for the trip. I hear my sisters do it a fair amount too, though they are actually cool, secure, and not places where fun goes to die like my buddy's horrendous girlfriend, so it's not nearly as bad with them. I could list countless examples.

Instead of getting mad at every tight body, women should use it as motivation to get to the gym and watch the extra cream coffee and bad food a little more often. That's what I do when I see a ridiculously in-shape actor or even random dude at the gym when I've been slackin off on my own workouts. I know I'm not gonna look like Christian Bale in American Psycho, but hell, it reminds me to stay in decent shape.

Everybody knows it's irrational to expect most real-life women outside the genetically lucky ones to have insert actress X's curves, tits, ass, and face besides women. Guys just want a girl that's in decent shape and cares enough about herself to take care of her body. That's why I love a girl with a great body - and I'm not just talkin skinny, a girl with an athletic body whatever her body frame is that clearly works out and is in the business of caring about herself. She doesn't need to have huge tits or a JLO ass. I just wanna see some evidence she takes care of herself.

That's one of the first things I find out about a woman I'm interested in: Does she work out? Not only is it something I love, but even if they are extremely skinny by body type or whatever, if they don't work out and eat healthy, they don't really take care of themselves and that's a BIG turn-off for me.

Every once in a while I'll see a real-world dude who I can tell would get the ladies' panties wet, but the occasion is few and far between.

(EDIT: Something to add to #4): Women in real life just have a lot more assets to work with. A woman with an average face will still attract a ton of men if she has great tits and/or ass, and vice versa. Men, well, you have your facial structure, maybe facial hair if you make it work for you, maybe hair, and being in shape. There are a lot more component parts that a "real" woman has at her disposal to overpower other, less attractive parts of her compared to men.

You're right. Just once I'd like to see a guy post something after one of the Shemar-type pictures and go "yeah, he's pretty hot." But that will never happen. The other day I posted about Apolo being hot and within a minute, the "he's a homo" card came out.

DETROIT -- This year's North American International Auto Show provided not only a glimpse of cars of the future, but a look at the future of the industry and the growing dominance of Ford Motor Co.

Ford, which was the only U.S. automaker to avoid bankruptcy and a government bailout, reported a 33 percent sales increase in December compared with a year ago.

"Ford's plan is working," said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing sales and service.

Ford, Lincoln and Mercury 2009 sales totaled 1.62 million, down 15 percent; but the company said its U.S. total market share was about 15 percent, about 1 percentage point higher than in 2008. It was the company's first full-year U.S. market share increase since 1995.

Ford also swept the North American Car and Truck Awards at the Detroit auto show with its Fusion Hybrid and Transit Connect.

The company introduced its Focus compact sedan to widespread acclaim by journalists and industry analysts. And Ford has the ability to introduce 10 or more new products based on the Focus "C" family platform alone.

Other automakers generating buzz at the show were Hyundai and Kia, thanks to a strong product portfolio and creative marketing; Audi/Volkswagen with their aggressive product plans, sparkling road performance and cutting-edge design; and Nissan, which continues to thrive by virtue of its willingness to take risks and create exciting, expressive designs that stand out in the crowd.

What about Toyota? The Japanese automaker has the resources and products but needs to regain its footing after falling sales and safety recalls damaged its reputation. With the exception of the Venza crossover and the Lexus LF-A, its production models didn't generate a lot of excitement at the auto show.

Other trends:

Smaller, faster
The era of the powerhouse four-cylinder engine is upon us. Many manufacturers had cars on display that were powered by four-cylinder engines that had horsepower boosted by supercharging, turbocharging, direct fuel injection or other means.

For instance, Volkwagen's svelte CC Coupe Concept is powered by a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that uses direct fuel injection, turbocharging and an intercooler, gets 45 miles to the gallon and has a top speed of 141 mph.

Trucks? What trucks?
For the first time in memory, this was ashow in which trucks and SUVs did not play a major role.

There wasn't a single new truck introduced, and the only crossover of note was the new Lincoln MKX. That trend likely will continue because of the government's new fuel standards.

Smaller really is better
Compact cars are no longer bare bones. Ford's new Focus and Chevrolet's new Cruze are laden with leather, features and equipment to rival the best of almost any entry-level luxury car.

Even Chevy's little Aveo RS concept car had an interior that was a major upgrade from the previous Aveo model. Car company executives predict that consumers will be willing to pay more once they see that good things come in small packages.

Luxury alive and well
Several of the models on display were luxury cars with the latest technology. Recession or not, just about all the manufacturers said there was still a healthy market for luxury products, including the Audi A8, the Mercedes Benz E Class Cabriolet, the Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept and the Lincoln MKX.

Hyundai's march
Hyundai's all-new 2011 Sonata did not make its premiere at the show, but still garnered plenty of attention -- for good reason. With the appearance and lines of an entry-level Mercedes C Class, the Sonata now surpasses just about all other family car models in content, elegance and value.

Hybrids and electrics
It's no longer groundbreaking news to see an electric-powered vehicle at the auto show. The Electric Avenue exhibit featured a variety of electric cars, electric plug-in cars and hybrids. Toyota even predicted that hydrogen fuel cell powered cars would be on the market by 2015.

Good point, although I'd honestly rather look like myself than someone like the athlete you made fun of in the Olympic thread, I don't care how much tail he attracts.

I wouldn't want to look like that fag from Twilight movies that girls swoon over either for the same reason. I'm fine looking like myself instead of that.

DETROIT — The North American International Auto Show opens in Detroit Saturday, giving visitors a chance to get up close and personal with two new vehicles that will go into production in Lansing later this year.


On display will be the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, which will be made at the Lansing Grand River plant, and the GMC Acadia Denali, which will be made at the Lansing Delta Township plant. General Motors Co. will also be showing new concept cars, including a hybrid Cadillac sedan and a pint-sized GMC crossover.


Sixty other exhibitors will be on hand, too, showing everything from mini electric vehicles to ultra-luxury cars from Maserati and Maybach.


But looking at cars isn’t the only thing to do at the show.


A test track in the basement of Cobo Hall sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. will give people a chance to take a ride in alternative energy powered vehicles.


“The MEDC had so much success with that last year that they’re expanding the track to a quarter-mile,” said Doug Fox, chairman of the 2010 NAIAS committee.


This year’s show will run through Sunday, Jan. 24.


Last year, the show attracted 650,517 visitors and generated an economic impact of $350 million in the metro Detroit area.
