I died laughing! I was glad to see UP won an award. It was a touching children's film, and I loved every part of it. For those with the imagination and heart to still dream and think like a child I salute you.
I had one of my artworks selected for the Small Works on Paper Exhibition and the grand opening for the show was yesterday. I was invited to speak about my artwork and about my art to a room full of prestigious art folks, many of the others selected were professors in college. I was nervous but I did well, and it was a great success. The artwork will tour my state for a year to 11 locations throughout the state.
For me this was a great honor. This is the first big show I have entered since I graduated. I was not sure if my stuff would even be considered good enough. Goes to show you never know till you try. The first gallery that the open house was in was a two story mansion, with beautiful double white balconies in the front. My artwork was in this great historic house being displayed.
I now have the courage to start competing in these type of shows, and take a chance. For those on this site who were so kind to give me feedback on my artwork I just want to say thanks.
And especially to Daniel my husband. Who sits in the Starbucks while I draw for hours. Who goes to museums with me when he would rather be at a ballgame. For loving me and attending things like this with me. For telling me your proud of me. Thank you my love.
