I think the 80s rock stars were all channelling Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon or at least had the same hairdresser  :

I always thought Steev-O was listening to a lot of Ozzy Osbourne at the time he got that hair-do.

Annie, although I laugh when I look at this photo, I wish I had the same amount of hair follicles for sure...but this was me in the summer of 1988. :)

Mel's look in those movies is impeccable. Some of the best movies of all time. If I could grow a mullet in that fashion today in 2010, I certainly would. Unfortunately, I don't have Mel's hairline.

You're still a singer, right? I caught some posts from you that seemed to indicate you're in the business.

I admit I'm in the minority, but I LOVED Steve's hair during ROR. Something about that look and his out of control behavior does it for me.

See, I never got that. A bunch of girls/women seem to like the whole manic, out-of-control behavior Steve was exhibiting during that time. I don't get that at all. To me, that behavior was unnerving and depressing. Like, I dunno. From what I've heard and seen, it seemed that he was quite close to the edge. That's not attractive to me, that's sad. :(

I guess it's the bad boy facade. Yes, Steve was very close to the edge and I firmly believe that if he hadn't stopped when he did, he wouldn't be here to tell the story. And I'm very glad he did.

It was where he was at the time and part of his legacy, good or bad. He got through it, just like I have when times have been rough. Feeling sorry for him the rest of our lives doesn't do anyone any good.

I don't feel sorry for him any more, because he's all set now (Or at least not completely out of it). I just don't get the whole 'bad-boy' thing, I guess. A bunch of other girls and women have that attraction... for whatever reason, I don't. I feel sympathy for men and women who are going through hard times or are pretty much out of it and would help them in any way I could, but in general, that's not what I'm *attracted* to. I dunno. Whatevz. :P

Well I wouldn'd say I am in "the biz"! I do sing and have performed to a live audience on occasion, but never anything with regularity. Last regular run I had was with my best friend's rock band a year from '06 to late in '08. We rehearsed semi-regularly but for whatever reason, never steadily gigged. Truth be told, I am a very reluctant performer, annie!
